interesting thing to say when there's actually been a meteoric rise in NBA big men talent over recent years compared to what we saw when dwight used to be the best big in the league.

not to mention this upcoming draft has a potential 2-3 more big men who can join that echelon of elite bigs.

This is offensive, how can you forget all of the talented oversea players, college players, high school players, middle school players, and YMCA players that would all be a significant improvement over Clint as well.

I think he's top 10, and so far this season has been better than even top 10.

I'm always surprised how bad he is on offense, given his stats make it appear he's a lob king. Turrible hands. But that defense is no joke.

I just think it's disrespect to Capela to say Gobert can be taught a PnR at Capela's level. Not just because of his bad hands, but the roll is also a read. I question whether Gobert can do the different reads. Plus, Capela has already moved onto more advanced 3-man game PnRs, in the double drag plays, Spain PnR, pick for picker Horns action, etc. Also, we seem to be toying with Capela initiating 5-out motion from top of arc. Infancy stage stuff, but could be early sign of more GSW-style improvement to come. At least, I consider it a window into the practice court, whenever I see him out there.

Gobert can play 34 mpg, though...ten more than Capela. Wonder if more responsibility in offense would affect his defense much, if any, ie stamina.

Yeah, but it's improving. Just three years ago, most candidates were either rookies or NBA virgins.

This. It's also why I have to dismiss the suggestion that DeAndre could be just as productive in our system. So much of being a successful roller depends on instantly recognizing when a lane opens up, and that talent is what makes Capela so successful.

Watching what the Pistons are doing with Drummond, I'm excited by the idea of involving Clint in more DHOs, and how that could potentially make our PnR game even more dangerous.
