Since you probably missed this in the 2017 NBA Draft forum Zhou Qi thread, I'll post it here:

Zhou Qi is not there yet. He is going to take some time to get used to just how much faster and stronger the competition is. It all depends on his early development. Frankly it's going to require him playing in the D-League at a fast pace and work on his own athleticism simultaneously. Let's see how he looks at the end of the coming season rather than at the beginning.

He must be fearless to play in this league because he'll face discrimination every day as a foreigner. When Yao came into the league, he was fortunate to have teammates who welcomed him with open arms. Harden and Bev will have to do the same for this kid for him to succeed.

The Summer League, assuming he's a full participant, will be great a barometer to where he is at physically and IQ wise. He's almost assuredly will spend most of the year on the D-League

I would hope the Rockets take a more unorthodox approach with Zhou's development. He may have big man length measurements, but I see potential in his ability to switch onto the perimeter and put a large wingspan in the passing lanes and closing out shots while being able to recover as a weak side helper in the paint. That's not to see he doesn't need to add weight and strength, but I see his strength guarding the 3-4 position over the 4-5.

Hoping he works out. You cant teach 7 foot 2. If he develops into a solid backup for Clint all the better.

No I have not seen him all. . At 7 foot 2 I would have thought he would be a center. There are very few 7 footers like Dirk who could play the 4.

Stop categorizing dudes to positions based on height, Joe needs to be working on his ball handling and playing sf because every center in the league including Clint would eat him alive

This guy is never going to weigh 2fiddy without steroid abuse. Listed at 209, just a tad heavier than me! But also 1.5 feet taller lol

The days of Shaquille Oneal 350 pound behemoth centers who can't shoot are gone. Get over it. He looks as fluid as any 7'2" athlete I've ever seen. He seems to have a decent shot. If it were me I'd have him watching KD all day long. Lanky, lean player like that....of course every athlete hits the weights but that isn't going to ensure his success. A crossover and :gasp: deadly accuracy from 15 ft will.

35% from 3 already is pretty spectacular.
