My dad is a local comedian here in Houston and he always bashes all the guys that try to copy Pryor. The joke about eating p***** is usually the one that others try to copy all the time.
He hasn't even made anything after that yet.... All his "commercialized" songs that you hear on the radio have been from his older mixtapes, Comeback Season and Room for Improvement.
Good one, totally agree. Which reminds me... Dr. Drew - I've watched a couple of his Celebrity Rehab shows on VH1. He likes to make us think he's helping these people, but it's nothing but blatant exploitation. Haven't pretty much all of his "patients" gone back to using drugs after the show? His "sessions" usually go something like this: Dr. Drew - So....tell me about yourself. Celebrity - Well, I have a major drug and alcohol problem and I'm depressed about it. Dr. Drew - Um hum......and how does that make you feel? Celebrity - Well....it makes me feel like horse ****. Dr. Drew - Okay. Thank you. That was a good session. Director - Cut! Okay, that's lunch everyone!
I dumb down for my audience And double my dollars They criticize me for it Yet they all yell "Holla" If skills sold Truth be told I'd probably be Lyricly Talib Kweli Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense (But i did five Mil) I ain't been rhymin like Common since
But, is that really what makes him great? I think people throw criteria out there to define who is a great comedian but ultimately it's about who can make you laugh. I don't care if someone talks about race or relationships or kids as long as they make me laugh.
Completely agree on Ke$ha <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="http://www.collegehumor.com/moogaloop/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1935457&fullscreen=1" width="640" height="360" ><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true"/><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="movie" quality="best" value="http://www.collegehumor.com/moogaloop/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1935457&fullscreen=1"/><embed src="http://www.collegehumor.com/moogaloop/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=1935457&fullscreen=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="640" height="360" allowScriptAccess="always"></embed></object><div style="padding:5px 0; text-align:center; width:640px;">See more <a href="http://www.collegehumor.com/videos">funny videos</a> and <a href="http://www.collegehumor.com/pictures">funny pictures</a> at <a href="http://www.collegehumor.com/">CollegeHumor</a>.</div>
George Lopez has a $35 million house on the Hawaiian island of Lanai, that I saw when I was there a couple weeks ago. He seems to be doing something that somebody likes.
Socialites like Paris Hilton and the Kardashians. Disagree completely. She doesn't take herself seriously, unlike every other pop star out there. Goofy, silly songs. It's a breath of fresh air.
Fran Blinebury...oh wait. I guess the Chronicle management were asking themselves the same question...
lol I like Drake too but you just ripped Jay-Z for rapping about champagne and bentlys, when Drake has been on classical hits like "Money to Blow". if you're talking about rapping about nonsense and selling a high lifestyle to low income listeners, that song is a perfect example. Have to disagree. Gaga is #1 on my "How Does _____ Pull a Paycheck" list. She is slightly ahead of KE$ha. Only because she came out first. But my goodness Gagas music is crap. Sure its catchy but has zero substance.
Her music appeals to people who like catchy dance music and who don't care about there being any substance in those songs. You basically just made the argument for how she makes so much money: she is the best out right now at making that particular brand of music.
That's why I like my hip-hop from the Originators . . . <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ac8b4u3KHPQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ac8b4u3KHPQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PE8sBmWTohA&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PE8sBmWTohA&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
