Summer is here and TV is a wasteland. For the past few years I signed on with Netflix for the Summer but I just looked at their 'new release' offerings and it was terrible. A bunch of B movies I never heard of. The only one on the whole page I'd watch was Rum Diaries and it got bad reviews. So I looked at Hulu and Vudu (that I get on my wireless Blu-ray player), same thing. What's out there equipment wise or service wise that gets year old movies at a decent price? (my Blu-ray is my only TV/internet connection right now). Dube
Netflix streaming selection has gotten a lot worse. Once you watch the TV shows, you feel it gets to be a waste. I have Amazon Prime, but have only watched one movie. I've used Hulu, but not recently. I now watch mostly DVR'd shows and movies/shows I've burned to DVD.
Summer has a ton of shows Breaking Bad, Veep, Episodes, The Ricky Gervais Show, Breaking Bad, Workaholics, Tosh.0, Louie, Falling Skies, Warehouse 13 Boss, True Blood, and Wilfred are shows I have heard good things about but have not gotten into
I use two equal size pieces of bamboo and some twine to tie the VHS tape to the bamboo sticks. And, then I stream them in a race near my van DOWN BY THE RIVER! Or, Netflix. DirecTV on Demand is sort of streaming as you can watch while you record it to your local box. I've been getting Breaking Bad Season 4 episodes from that lately since they haven't come on Netflix yet. I recorded the remaining few not on there as they re-aired on AMC recently. I was really getting tired of waiting on Season 4 to pop up legally...but it did finally before Season 5 premiere.
I just go to my favorite p*rn site, click on the category of video I am interested in that day, and hit play. Streams on streams on streams
I have about 15 links for movies -- I can always find a good quality stream even on a new release. I don't download them though only stream.
should have been listed thrice Netflix isn't what it used to be as far as NEW movies are concerned. But don't sell our Netty short. It has great selections, they are just hidden gems here and there majority of people haven't heard of... I have an idea for a thread.. making it now
On the computer or on the TV, do you have a wireless hook-up like Roku? (need a little hardware help in this thread too) Roku says it does subtitles (I need it for dialog...old/deaf)/ Netflix was crappy anyway but I didn't get subtitles either.
User Netflix a lot since I got the streaming service last year, only watch movies off and on, show selection has been more than enough to make it worthwhile. Time Warner has finally gotten on board with HBO GO so I'll finally be checking out The Wire and Deadwood.
Talking legally here, if you are going to go streaming without any cable/satellite you have to be prepared to broaden your horizons a little and also appreciate better TV. None of the streaming services are going to be very good with just 'new releases'. But there is still a wide range of content across all the services. Illegally of course there are other options.
