I figure I'll watch Game of Thrones live and then the DVR'd finale of Walking Dead. That way I can skip the commercials and finish watching both quicker than if I did it the other way around.
Dvr Walking Dead Watching Game of Thrones live Period I am sorry, Walking Dead is good but has nothing on Game of Thrones. I cannot think of any current show that comes close. I do love this thread though because if it was Homeland or Dexter it would be a toughie!!
TWD has nothing on GoT but GoT has nothing on BB. Comeon man, thrones is great I truly love it and have read allt eh SOIAF books but the show really has its stupid moments. BB is a top 3 show of all time lock.
It is the most god awful show you could ever imagine. Writing , acting, script is all awful. Absolutely nothing creative about the show. It is a generic zombie story dragged out over 30 hours.
It's an okay show and generally a fun watch, but its source material happens to be an awesome comic that the show honestly pales in comparison to. Overall its pretty good action and abysmal dialogue, but the season finales are usually really well done.
again there will always be detractors... The general consensus is that its a great show. Of course I'm not a connoisseur of the arts so I must have petty standards for writing and acting. I thinks its great.
Can't speak for anyone else, but I say it because it's usually stilted, exposition heavy, or generally ill-fitting of the characters speaking it. Dialogue on TWD is pretty much just currently used as a tool to get from point A to B, rather than to develop and explore characterization and motivations (as opposed to shows like Game of Thrones and Justified, which really excel in this regard). Silver lining is that the episodes this season that have broken this trend ("Clear," "This Sorrowful Life") were written by the new showrunner, so it should improve going forward.
You obviously don't watch it if you're being serious. The script/dialogue certainly isn't the best (and like someone else mentioned, the best show runner TWD had in their back pocket is taking over, so we should see a spike in quality in that department) but this is FAR from any typical Zombie story other than the fact it deals with... you guessed it - zombies. TWD actually dives into the human psyche and how its affected getting deeper into an outbreak. Just as The Mist IMO perfectly displays how a monster outbreak affects human/human interactions once the **** hits the fan and you soon realize despite the world crashing outside, the biggest monster can potentially be your neighbor.
Rank the shows I'm interested in watching... - Walking Dead - Boardwalk Empire - Game of Thrones - American Horror Story - Throw in a recommendation of yours
