Astros games and texans games are loud and crazy. Rockets have been the most consistent franchise for the last 25 years yet fan base is more crazy on twitter than at the TC. Maybe it’s cuz most original Houstonians left Houston to other cities in the past 10 years and new in towners are fans of other teams or don’t care for hoops. Best thing to do is to give away free lower bowl tix and recruit new rockets fans.

Crowd is very bad....and I love it. Gives media members here material to write about once a week
on these endless “crowd is lame” threads.

@Clutch Can we have just one thread on the crowd each season like the trade thread? Thank you.

You can’t force wealthy fans / corporations to go to a game which they bought a ticket. And if they do go, you can’t force them to be voicerous.

Plus a lot of it can be ticket agents buying tickets and not selling them, because they want too much money for them.

Yes I know there’s a new arena in San Francisco
But the City of Oakland is losing two teams

The Summit was packed after the first championship and second.
I found it easier to get there than downtown.

That being said, it’s Valentine’s Day and it’s the Kings

It was embarrassing/pathetic when Harden was at the free throw line, and you could pick up the one person in the crowd yelling MVP.

Save your complaints for the playoffs when you’re really gonna need them. Expect an empty lower bowl at tip-off unless it’s a weekend game... even in the playoffs.

He’s in the hospitality and restaurant business..
If he can get people into those Landry’s restaurants he can do this

was the crowd just as bad when we would start at 7:30? if not, we should go back to that starting time especially with how much faster games are played now

reality and perception are two different things.
there's lots of complex factors involved in this reality.
people who can afford lower bowl seats can also also afford to do other things. Do people really want to see the Kings? Do people really want to watch the Rockets on Valentine's Day?

On another note, it must be strange for the casual fan to watch the Rockets on TV, see empty seats and see Chinese jerseys and Chinese ads all over the court. They might think it's an exhibition game in Shanghai.

    Thanks Les!

    Good info.

But... Silicon Valley, and the arena is named after a friggin bank?

This is why I don't get San Fran, the city just makes no sense.

Silicon Valley and San Francisco are different areas. Same 'Bay Area' but not close.

San Francisco is a the main financial hub of California , lots of finance and banking. Silicon Valley is the area south between San Francisco and San Jose. The Bay Area consists of many cities, the biggest are San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose.

In between that you have a bunch of cities like Palo Alto, Redwood , Cupertino etc.

Okay, but this is literally the best time and place to do something like "Google Arena". I don't know when they're going to have another chance.

A huge issue is that the lower bowl club seats are closed off. At the Summit, people would filter down during the game and fill in the lower bowl and it would be louder. You can't do that at Toyota Center.

The Clubs are also a distraction. If you are in the Club level and have a pass to the club, its hard not to spend a lot of time in there.

There have to be something done with the Corporation seating. I just don't understand why they don't have them in suites. Allow real fans to buy those seats.

You got to give Tilman some time to undo Les's work. It's not going to be easy at all.

I think the red roudies should be moved closer, not placed in a corner
