i'm not sure a glass of wine a day gets you to alcohol-induced dementia.

In some cases, red wine will cause this. This is most notable in people of Irish ancestry. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS

    According to this textbook:

Nutrition and Metabolism, First Edition, Michael J. Gibney, Ian A. MacDonald, and Helen M. Roche, 2003

up to 30ml/day of alcohol is ok, ie for 5% alcohol beer, then you can drink 600ml of it per day. For 15% alcohol red wine, this is about 200ml/day.

Bingo. I don't know how people go from a glass of red wine a day to all alcoholic drinks is good for you. You can get anti-oxidants from a lot of things. Just because I drop a Centrum tablet into my 8 ball doesn't mean that drink is suddenly healthy.
