You can attempt to divert this thread all you want. The fact you had no idea that Patterson was the AD of Texas, WHILE OTHERS KEPT POINTING THAT OUT, means that you didn't even read this thread.

you are just a troll. I don't care about soccer.

you should just concentrate on the NBA, maybe if you read, you'd learn something about the Rockets.

this is the one and only thing you might be right about

I am learning more about the business and contract situation in here from knowledgeable posters

and I do not care as much about history as you do.

If you are just educating people in here that won't be a problem but you are using words like idiot and troll. You try to reference to popular culture and stuff that's non-relevant too much.

Nobody will actually listen to your words.

If you are calling everyone a troll whose interests are the NBA of today and tomorrow then you will be soon left alone.

You end up being a pitiful and self loathing old man instead of embracing fellow posters who are younger but have different opinions.

Good luck, sir. Try the high and classy road for once.

Pretty much this. He helped make 2 good coaching hires, everything else about his tenure was a total disaster.

Patterson had Hakeem Olujowon from day 1, DM started with a team capped out, injured Tmac/Yao and the oldest team in the league. And he did it in only 7 years! Patterson had one of the best centers ever healthy for more than a decade and he couldn't surround him with another superstar until Dream was ready to retire.

This thread is full of ignorance and romanticism from old people, if Patterson was so good why isn't he a GM of another team? He a championship builder, why couldn't he build another championship team elsewhere? And if he can't do it on another team why are you guys thinking he can do it here?

If you read the thread, no one here wants Patterson, except for OP.
The rest has pointed out why he is no help.

you are assuming he knows how to read.

the first post he said Patterson refused to trade Sampson for Drexler, which was an uniformed statement.

his second post is just as uniformed because Patterson inherited a Rockets team that was torn apart by drugs and the decimation of their 2nd best player Ralph Sampson.

but that's Rockets history , which I can easily tell that only a few people care about.

I want you to actually read .

    Can you do that?

He went to Portland and drafted Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge.

You know they have a basketball team there right?

Then for the 100th time on this thread, he went to get an NFL team for Houston, which is a huge deal and he got that .

He decided to go work as Athletic Director for Arizona State then Texas, which are big jobs.

I understand you are from the PHILLIPINES and they don't have the NFL or NCAA sports there. Maybe you forgot to take an reading class too.

But in Texas and America, we like these sports.

Apparently people who have no interest in how the Rockets created Clutch City or the city of Houston are on this thread to bash Patterson.

You can't deny the moves he made in 4 years were historic and significant.

Yes, I have acknowledged Patterson has pissed off people.

but in the end of the day, the one gm who got Horry, Cassell, Mario Elie, Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell and hired Rudy T

is the best GM in Rockets history.

It's a very good question. And yes, I think he should be brought in to take over as GM.

And once he assembles a team that returns to the finals, we should then root for a Hall of Fame bound ex NFL player to kill his ex wife. Then run from the police so that the network cuts away from one of the Finals games to show the police chase live.

    Then profit...

Here's how shocked people were when this 7 time champion was drafted

This thread is pretty pointless. One person really, really wants Patterson but it isn't going to happen.

If we're all doing our own pipe dreams, lets all start threads about them.

Let me start one about how we can potentially get Ben Simmons.

Everyone wanted "Baby Jordan". Guy never did anything.

Pretty funny, Ben Simmmons wasn't even born when Horry was drafted.

    Excellent thread.

    Thank you Tinman.

How many Morey-Only fans we have here? How many he planted here? I understand few of those here has direct/indirect financial ties with Rockets and they need to ki** GMs a** but maan - how difficult it is to hire a Mathematician/Statistician from MIT with NO basketball experience.

Hey - MOFs - let it go, Daryl is a gonner, accept it.

    Not true.

First of all, you did not read OP's posts carefully.
    Secondly, you are a MOF.

    Sad.

While everything you're saying about his tenure with the Rockets is - at the very least partially - true, I know you can understand why people might not want him to return to the team, regardless of their feelings about the current GM.
