Haha sorry, sarcasm isn't really a font.. I was joking that he basically was on the same type of team as us and didn't do anything, but the poster you were responding to seemed to think he would do better.. Than Os, maybe, but better enough or than someone else we could get? No.
No real answer for me I also know that no matter what we are not fixing our QB woes in the foreseeable future.
I want a QB in place for 2017 that gives us a chance to win a Championship (Romo/Rivers), but I also want to have a 1st round QB serving as the understudy. I read that if we trade for Romo on his current contract, we get him for $14m in 2017, then he can be cut after that with no cap hit if he gets injured or plays poorly. Rivers is also making a $14m base salary for 2017.
I lean towards using the cap space on a new QB... AJ played great this last year, but we'll have KJ coming back and he was playing great before he got hurt. Seems like we may have to overpay AJ (on the strength of one year), but we may be able to get KJ to agree to an extension on a little bit of a bargain contract.
Any QB would be better than Os was last year. Even Savage, but you're probably right about what the McNair's do at the QB position. Which is why they will never win anything.
It still won't matter who we put back there until we address our O Line. Romo wouldn't make it out of preseason.
Would you take a chance on Colin Kaepernick? He's kind of sucked the past few years and bring a little baggage with his taking a knee protest. Not that long ago he did have some success and went to a Super Bowl. Overall I'm not a huge fan of his, but for the right price I would not mind taking a chance.
