If Trevor Ariza is what you would call a star player, then Luis Scola is a superstar.

CP3 coming to Houston can be impossible, but people defending this possibility, saying that he will end up in NY, I am sorry but y´all don´t know nothing about bball.

People saying that he will be in NYK team this year or the next, when he is under contract, and the Knicks has 0 assets to trade that NO would like

People need to have balanced opinions

You can´t say it is impossible, but you also can´t say it is likely just because he have assets

There is 3 questions still unanswered at this point:

Is NO really open to trade CP3???

And if so, do teams in the same division need extra to pull the trade, or are the NO gm willing to trade him for the best offer, regardless of who does the offer???

Is NO going after teams that can have also the horrible Okafor contract?? Or will they only shop CP3???

After having these 3 questions answered, the probability of each team landing him will be more clear, but please, don´t tell me he will end up in NY, it is impossible, at least right now, only when he becomes a FA, 2 YEARS FROM NOW

And yes we have the assets, if you think teams will offer bynum for CP3, Vice Carter for him, just no, NO, it will not happen, and by the way, NO doesn´t want that, they want young talent

Another thing, Houston fans like to overrated our young studs, they are good, teams want them, but you can´t predict if someone is star quality, last time I saw specialist talking about who was going to be better, everyone said that GREG OLDEN was going to be an immediate impact player in the NBA, and he was going to be better then Durant, and we all know how that ended

But the point I wanted to make is that besides some people overrating so much AB, there is no need to do a 3 team trade just because of AB, AB is a bargain, he has major market value because of his contract, even if NO has Collision, AB can be a trade asset to NO use in other trades, for example with indiana, or other teams that need a PG, it´s not like NO would decline an offer, just because AB is on it, we have other things to be concerned, for example, will any team go crazy for CP3???

People saying that AB is fine, and I don´t like CP3 stop acting like this guy is a problem if he becomes a Houston, it is so hard to please fans, daamm

    man, I don´t want IGGY
    danng I hate Melo
    CP3 is not good

And if we don´t do nothing people say

Why didn´t we go after player x, why, why. blah blah

Cross Melo off the list of targets?

    Down to Granger & Paul?

Paul isn't a free agent. Different set of rules.

I'd much rather him re-sign with the Nuggets than go to the Knicks.

Besides, the Nuggets have never been true compitition for us with a healthy Yao, we don't have to worry about them.

This is also great news for us because the Knicks picks will be still valuable and the supposed "Big 3" of CP3, Amare and Melo will not happen.

This should increase our chances of aquiring CP3.

I'd really like to see a whole year with Brooks running the team with Martin,Ariza,Scola and Yao. I don't know that CP is going to make your offense that much better. I don't see him lobbing alley-oops to yao or Scola. And Brooks is so much more likable.

Im in a tough spot here!

Id LOVE to get paul, but we have a GOOD young PG in brooks!! Id rather see us upgrade at SF in stead (Iggy) but don't here what im not saying!

I would NOT be opposed to getting him!

Of course We can give them what they want and take back what they want. Peja is an expiring contract.

We take Okafor and CP3. Les said he was all in and he can definetly prove it with a move like this. We'll have 2 years with Paul and Okafor (the Shot blocking 5 we've been after) and if it fails we blow it up.

I see Brooks as more of combo guard so I don't feel like he runs a team better than CP3.

I've always felt like this team needed a dominant ball handler. Both Martin and Ariza are better at the receiving end. And with Tmac and his play making abilities gone, CP3 would be more than a replacement.

I like CP cause even if Yao goes out, I still feel like CP3 could run the team and give us a good chance to go deep into the playoffs.

Oh and yes, this team needs a superstar! I'm tired of the Rockets not being on national television.

There would have to be a third team to take a contract dump. I'd say the Pacers because Brooks is redundant on the Hornets since they have Collison and I think the Hornets are in full on contract dump mode.

    thus...

    Paul and Rush - Rox
Battier, Jeffries, Hill, TJ Ford, 2011 Knicks Draft pick - Hornets
    Brooks, Posey - Pacers

    Rox:
    Paul/Lowry
    Martin/Rush/Taylor
    Ariza/Budinger
    Scola/Hayes/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Anderson

    Hornets:
    Collison/Ford
    Thorton/Wright
    Battier/Peja
    West/Songalia
    Okafor

    Pacers:
    Brooks
    Dunleavy/Jones
    Granger/George
    Murphy/Hansbrough
    Hibbert/Foster

Not totally unfair for anyone. I mean, talent wise for the Hornets sure, but they take back ALL expiring contracts. That's huge for them.

It's all a matter of if we want to give up Brooks.
    ...
And I really like the little dude...

Unlike all the free agent BS, this is something I really believe could happen.

The Rockets seem to make the most noise in trades rather than signings. From Drexler, to Barkley, to Pippen (gag), to Francis, to McGrady, to Artest, to Martin (although I don't know if I'd put him on that level yet)... and if Paul wants out, I could very well see the Rockets being a team with the most attractive offer for New Orleans.

And that "list of teams" doesn't mean crap.

If you are being truly objective then CP3 to NY wouldn't seem so impossible. They can take back Okafor's contract and send them back Eddy Curry's expiring contract, a prospect in Anthony Randolph, a starter in Wilson Chandler. Do I think that will be the best offer? No, but it is still a possibility.

The thing is they'd have to gut the team completely just to match the money.

NOLA would only be getting back expiring and no picks. I don't see why NOLA would do it.

CP3 could possibly turn Budinger into an all star player though. If he wasn't part of the deal, CP3 would compliment Bud's game very well. It's only a matter of time until Budinger is a starter (IMO).

    CP3 + Okafor combines salary for 2010-11: $26,735,153 (min trade value: $19,951,364)

    Brooks + Patterson + Hill + Battier (expiring) + Jeffries (expiring) = $20,822,792

Trade sweeteners: $3M max cash, right to swap 2011 NY pick, 2012 NY pick, future HOU pick/s, rights to Llull & Eliyahu.

    * Rockets could also try to send Battier to Portland for Przybilla (& Fernandez?) and flip the Vanilla Gorilla (& Rudy?) into the deal. 80% of Przybilla's contract is covered by insurance.

We should totally make a run at CP3 even if we have to take on Okafor's contract!
    .....................
    Aaron Brooks
    Kevin Martin
    Jeffries (expiring contract)
    Harris/Johnson(non-guaranteed)

    2011 NY(swap)pick & 2011 Clipps 2nd rd(swap)pick
    2012 NY pick & 2012 HOU 2nd rd pick

    for

    Chris Paul
    Emeka Okafor
    .....................

We load them up with draft picks, young talent and expirings, perfect deal for a rebuilding team. Which would be the case for N.Orleans if they trade Chris Paul..

I agree, but if there is one organization willing to gut their team for a superstar it's the Knicks, and we've seen way more lopsided trades in the NBA before. Again, not saying I think it'll happen, but the possibility exists.

Think about it. Chris Paul will have the D-Wade effect. He gets traded here, Bud becomes a star. Then Von Wafer will do a conference call to announce he is returning to the Rockets. Then V-Span will hold a 15 minute special in Greece regarding his decision to take his talents to Galveston Beach and join the Houston Rockets...again
