Remember this? Yep. It equaled the Rockets championships in city achievement IMHO. We were all over the radio, videos, everywhere... 5+ different rappers with regularly played hits. It was awesome. There's still a Screw influence in the hooks of current music... hip hop AND pop. Then, it all came crashing down. Bullish like this was the culprit. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/HnRc46xWSfI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Many local artists made it, they just couldn't sustain it unfortunately. Overall, we lack creativity and our flow is subpar.

One problem with Houston hip-hop is that a lot of the talent dies young. Sizzurp or gun violence is usually the culprit. Big Moe, DJ Screw, Pimp C, Fat Pat, Big Hawk At least H-town still gets some love to this day. Drake used DJ screws June 27 to make an homage to Houston Sorry can't embed from ipad http://youtube.com/watch?v=ikl3A9puiKI
Embedded. Man, Pimp C dying was a kick to the groin. UGK was just coming off International Players with Outcast. Pimp was UGK more than Bun. Pimp did the beats and did most of the hooks if you recall. He epitomized swag. Sad he died... 6 years ago this December. Sad all them dudes died young. I liked DJ Screws tapes where he screwed and chopped original music but I never really felt the rappers in S.U.C. were that talented. ZRo was always too depressing to listen to IMO. I liked Slim Thug's Already Platinum album and Chamillionaire's first album. The joint album with Paul Wall and Chamillionaire was really good as well. There are some new acts coming up like Le$ and Maxo Kream ....among others. Some I can listen to others I cant but to each his own.
I haven't heard that Pimp C interview in the longest time.. Haha that atlanta not part of the south part is hilarious.
He did like a 10 min freestyle on 97.9 years ago that was amazing. Wish I could find it. Anyway, he does crap like this now: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OiOnbpfg2U4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Best Pimp interview in my opinion right here. So many classic answers, my favorite is his answer to does he have any pets: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/vJPcrGxYeD0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
