Oh man. Using that method, Hoyer would project for 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions with 3800 yards and a QB rating of 91.4 So if Osweiler is worse than Hoyer in ever yway except yardage totals you will be happy? LOL?
Judging QB's based solely on QB rating and YPA would have you believe that Tyrod Taylor was a top 5-7 QB in the NFL last year.....do you really think that was the case? If a QB is giving you the yards and TD's that you want without throwing too many picks, you hold out on the QB rating because it'll come around. Go ahead and look at the record books, how many QB's that have passed for over 4400 yards in a season (what Brock was on pace for) have been bad QB's? I can give you plenty of QB's who are trash that have high QB ratings or a hight YPA.
What? ESPN picking the Texans to win the division? ESPN hates the Texans so much it's ridiculous. I can't stand it. The disrespect. Geez!
Hoyer inflated stats with garbage time play and play against the absolute worst teams in the NFL, you can't compare that sample to anything else. 10 of Hoyers 19 total TD's came either in garbage time against 3rd stringers in the Atlanta game or against the Titans, Jags, or Saints that had 3 of the worst defenses in the NFL with the Jags and Saints being the 2 worst. If you look at common opponents they both went up against, you have the Pats and Bengals and in those games Brock did a respectable job against the Pats in a win while Hoyer was total garbage in a blowout loss and in the Bengals game Brock did well in a win while Hoyer played like garbage till he was fortunately injured so that TJ Yates could come in and save the day. Imagine how much better Brock's numbers would be if he played the teams Hoyer did.
LOL, how can they end that article by stating the texans bring back roughly the same team as last season?
Yeah that's completely ridiculous. They completely overhauled the offense. That's my issue with stuff from FO and PFF, sometimes what they say is valid, sometimes it's a Skip Bayless type hot take that undermines their credibility.
The NFL Networkers gave the Texans draft an A+ http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...t-grades-texans-jaguars-titans-all-in-a-range and they put the Texans as #12 in their latest power rankings, highest in the division http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-draft-lifts-cardinals-broncos-patriots-fall As was just posted, ESPN is projecting the Texans to win the division. Just because they are talking about the Jaguars more doesn't mean they like them more. They like the moves they have made in the offseason (what's not to like) but they are still predicted to be worse than the Texans. That should be a compliment.
I'm telling you what I heard today from a few of the analysis on there. Two of them said the Texans won't win the division. They also said both the Jaguars and Titans will be in the running. You're going off of old news anyways dude. A lot of them have changed their stance.
Brock was on pace for 23 TDs....which would put him 16th amongst QBs. Also, not sure how you figured that 8 games played and 1,967 yards translates to 4400 over a full season. It would actually be 3934 yards, putting him 15th in the NFL. So, even setting aside the more important measurements like YPA...and QBR...and considering yards and TDs...he's nothing but average. Also, 22nd in completion percentage. Also, 21st in yards per game.
All the media still says the afc south sucks but i could see atleast 2 teams making the playoffs. I love the moves the Texans made on offense and like what the jags did. They are knocking at the door when the defense grows
That Jags defense is crazy loaded with talent. If the coaches are worth a lick, they should definitely be in the middle of the playoff race.
True, but they have 3 rookie studs (counting Fowler from last year)...they may not be great out the gates, but I'd venture to say that at least 1 of them will give them a big upgrade from what they had last season. Plus, adding Malik Jackson, Tashaun Gipson, and Prince Amukamara...on top of a handful of other defensive signings that will give them quality depth, if nothing else. If not next season, they should be really good the following year.
