Urlacher would just be Bradie James all over again. I think James will be back for depth reasons. He's a Wade guy, and Wade likes guys he can trust. The problem is, he's just old and slow. Dobbins and Sharpton seem to have plateau'd as special teamers and spot-duty fill-ins. Cushing should be fine coming off the ACL, but I think that an ILB could make more of an impact next season than a WR. Like I said though, between ILB and WR, I'm fine with taking BPA.

Who would you take at ILB @ 27 and Who Would you take With WR @ 27?

would you be willing to trade a couple of picks to move up in the Draft..
For Example if Cordalle Patterson slips to mid round????

Taking a TE wouldn't surprise me...and I'd almost see they need to strongly consider doing so.

Casey never really gave us anything as a TE even though we continued to consider him one. Graham is okay, but isn't half the blocker Dreesen was and now has concussion issues on top of it all. OD has been a stalwart when he's been healthy, but he's 30 at this point and isn't going to improve drastically in the next couple of years.

Kubiak loves his 2TE sets, so adding a strong addition to the mix would be a really good idea. I'd rather that over drafting another WR prospect that may or may not see the field.

I'd like to bring in a veteran T, WR and ILB before the draft to plug holes. If a good, high-upside TE is there round 1, sure, go for it. I still prefer NT for impact potential. It's a high value position but the ability to remain flexible on draft day seems important to me considering the state of the franchise and cap going forward.

Wouldn't be surprised either. The top 2 TEs in the draft, Tyler Eifert and Zach Ertz, would be very solid additions to the offense.

They were actually saying on sports radio this morning that we don't have enough cap room after rookie pool to sign another FA... unless we restructure another contract.

With the cap increase that is coming that will help out with getting some cap space but most likely the rest of the signings will be close to the minimum.

Cap increases are going to be small for a few years.

I don't know how the NFLPA let this happen. The NFL will see revenues go up in a HUGE way but won't have to share that revenue correctly for a few years while they "smoothly" increase the cap.

The NFL owners have brilliant guys on their side.

I don't know why but I really hope the Texans end up with Tyrann Mathieu and Robert Woods. I think both will have very good NFL careers.

After a lot of time spent looking a draft prospects i'm convinced that this is the deepest WR draft i've seen. As much as i like prospects like Allen and Hopkins (Patterson and Austin will be gone by the Texans pick), it makes much more sense to wait till the second round to grab a WR. Guys like Patton, Woods, Hunter, etc are likely to all be there in the 2nd; maybe even Hopkins. Given that the Texans can get a high-caliber WR with their 2nd round pick, i honestly think we should be addressing another position in the first round.

what do you think the texans biggest need potion is, excluding WR?

RT? They don't seem to value the position that much, and Kubiak seems high on Newton

NT? They don't seem to value the position that much, and Wade seems high on Mitchell (although i have no idea why)

ILB? I don't like drafting ILBs in the 1st round unless they are extraordinary. That would give us 3 first round picks and one high 2nd round pick at LB. ILB is a position that typically can be addressed in later rounds.

Safety? The Ed Reed signing pretty much closes the door on drafting a first round safety.

OLB? This would be the one i think makes the most sense. It solves two problems. We could move Brooks Reed inside to fill our need at ILB, and we get Wade another pass rusher, which he sorely needs.

What do you guys think? and are there any 3-4 OLBs worth drafting with the 27th pick, that will actually be there?

Moore. Who I don't really like. Seems soft. That'd be fun, just go Moore, Barkley, Badger and explode the worlds.

Jarvis Jones keeps falling substantially on draft boards. Just had a bad pro-day according to reports. If he falls to #27 i think he's a no-brainer pick for the Texans. He'd be a perfect 3-4 rush linebacker.

WalterFootball has him drafted during the 5th round.

    http://walterfootball.com/draft2013_5.php

    151. Dallas Cowboys: Sean Porter, OLB, Texas A&M
The Cowboys just signed Justin Durant, but they still need to add some linebacker depth.

You realize how big of a steal that would be?!?!?!?!? The past two years he's made SEC offensive lines look like D-2's. He's a hell of a playmaker (sacks, tackles, forced fumbles) my only concerning is that he is very average against the run, some of that might've the been the UGA run scheme but nothing #sonofbum can't fix!

If he falls to late teens, early 20's I hope they trade up to get him
