It's safe to say that Anthony Davis is the clear-cut #1 pick of the 2012 NBA Draft and I don't think there is a single team that would land the top prize and consider trading him, though Dwight Howard potentially being on the market could make me eat those words -- NJ landing the #1 comes to mind.

Given what the Rockets are likely going to be offering, this "may" be the best chance they have to move up, though it's hard to say how high without knowing which teams are picking where. I would assume the Rockets would want to trade-up if they can get a sure-fire starter for now or see the chance to get a cornerstone type of player that they can develop.

So let's just say it's going to cost you Kyle Lowry and at least one of your picks (the better one), if not both of your first round picks.

Which players in this draft would you be willing to give up that for?

    • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (Kentucky)
    • John Henson (North Carolina)
    • Perry Jones (Baylor)
    • Andre Drummond (Connecticut)
    • Thomas Robinson (Kansas)
    • Bradley Beal (Florida)
    • Jared Sullinger (Ohio State)
    • Harrison Barnes (North Carolina)
    • Tyler Zeller (North Carolina)
    • None of these players

I went with Beal and Drummond. The only other guy I would consider would be MKG. I just don't see him as THAT much of an improvement over Parsons.

We could do both. Morris+ Dallas pick for those two.

Lowry+a pick won't get us a shot at MKG, TR, or BB. Out of the rest, I pick Sullinger as my reasonable choice. If Sully can play C then I think it's a good call. Barnes and Jones are alternates.

Do what ever it takes to get Beal and Drummond sort of giving Parsosns away. Then the NEW ROCKET ERA will start.

    MKG.

Motor never stops. Always plays hard. Plays defense.

Then use the Lowry cap space on players you really want/need (including Dragic).

If there was a way to get Beal, I would trade Lowry, Martin,Bud, the NY pick and our second round pick(from minny) to get him

we play this wishful thinking game everytime the draft comes around.....ie Cousins, Valančiūnas. I just hope we have better luck this year. I also feel we have better bait then years past to move up. But dont think going from 13 to 5 is easy. Most teams picking in ranges 1-5 are in shambles and need stars. Thats why I look at Portland as a possibility. They have the franchise guys. Aldridge, Batum....They just need a solid supporting cast which I think Lowry, 13th and 17th pick could provide them. Unless they think Kobe 2.0 is available when they pick.

A player you don't have listed is Damian Lillard. The Rockets have a problem with getting shots in isolated situations. If you trade Kyle and amnesty Martin then Scola will be the only player on the team that can get his shot off in an Iso. Lillard is 6'2" with long arms and is fast and explosive.

One of those guys may fall, but it'd be for a reason of course. So to rank them,

    Tier One
    MKG
    Robinson
    Beal

    Tier Two
    Drummond
    Barnes
    Harrison

    Tier Three
    Jones
    Henson
    Zeller

Jones is the only tier 3 guy that excites me. Not that the other two cant NBA contributors, but meh

Also I'd add Lamb to Tier 2. He doesn't appear to have a D wade all around game, but a great scorer with crazy good wingspan and great athleticism.

    Drummond
    Robinson
    Beal
    Barnes
    Gil

Only players worth Lowry + Picks. I'm a huge Baylor homer, and still want little to do with PJ3... unless he were to drop all the way to our late lotto.

i would like beal or mkg but im pretty sure there wont be much movement of position (based on the last couple years). I think the strategy of rebuilding will have to be addressed this offseason.

Les is a business guy. you'd think he'd cut the waste and upgrade machinery at some point. There looks to be some nice pieces next year with muhammed and whenever parker comes out (maybe the following).

My hope is that we bring over d-mo and llull, resign lee and dragic, and trade lowry and martin and one 4. We need to facilitate the learning curve of our talent. A short season like this was wasted on mediocrity. I want some tangible hope to cling to rather than blind fanatacism. i was done with that last season.

If I were the Nets, I would sign Howard AND draft Davis. Best PF/C combo in the league- the next Robinson/Duncan.
