An era that is as past as they; re: SP. Man that dude was a dude with the big dude next to him. Pretty much became 'e'less, airless, without the Airness.

    The OP doesn't remember Pippen.

Cause Pippen and Tmac on the same show talking about the Rockets is like Darth Vader and Jabba the Hut talking about Luke Skywalker.

Scottie P held the record for the least amount of effort given as a rocket until Chriss broke it last night

He also had a sick dunk on Shawn Bradley

Nope.. Still not even close to "legend"

Thread title should be more like "Guy that wore Rockets jersey at one point talk about Harden"

Harden would be a beast in any era. Dude’s game is almost entirely skill based. He doesn’t have great size, is not a high flyer, nor does he have the lightening first step that T-Mac had.

Even in the 90s, dude would still avg. close to 30. Hand checking him then would not be effective. He’d just go into his shooting motion and draw fouls. Play him one on one, and he would make those defenders look just as silly. The avg perimeter NBA player wasn’t nearly as gifted physically as today’s players.

Outside of Jordan, Harden would easily be the second best perimeter player. What Harden is doing now is Wilt like. Dude is breaking the NBA. That doesn’t happen unless a player is truly transcendent (meaning he can be dominant in any era)

T-Mac sounds bitter (could have been the GOAT with work ethic and better luck) and Pip sounds flat out jealous (Jordan’s side kick and now some new kid with a beard getting so much attention)

I always find it a little bit funny how NBA fans try so hard to compare players from different generations. While it's still basketball, the game is entirely different than it was then. Different rules, different priorities, different flow and emphasis of the offense.

With that said, one of the things that impresses me the most about Harden is his uncanny ability to adapt and improve his game. Every year he comes back with new skills and improves and adds to his game along with the changing of the NBA- more than that, almost being the one that improvises the next trend in the NBA.
Because of that, I have no doubt he would be effective then as well. Maybe his game would look different, but there's no reason not to think that he wouldn't be able to adapt and exploit and improvise in that era with those rules as well.
We've witnessed him do it every year.

Other than Bruce Bowen sticking his feet in Harden's landing space. . . WHO IN THEIR ERA COULD HOLD HARDEN ?

Harden would shoot over Payton . . .ALLL DAY LONG

I am not being a homer but I would have to see it to beleive it . . .to see someone stop that Step Back
HArden maybe off .. . maybe even bothered. . .but that f*cking shot is lethal

They want to bring back hand checking. . . unless they bring back HAND HACKING it won't matter
Harden is STRONG than most of those players

This is not Kenny Smith being pushed to f*cking mexico by Derrick Harper . . .. . .
HArden would actually MAN UP and Bust 50 dead in HArper's face

I grew up watching tmac and was his diehard fan... but the second he started talking **** about Harden... Man just stfu. Maybe peak tmac is better than james, but james brings it every single night without any excuses and dedicates his whole time to work out so he wont get injured and stay consistent. Tmac had all the gifts but Harden needs it and thats why he already is better and will be alltime great
