What's with all this tanking (losing) mentality? Even if the rockets obtain multiple picks in this upcoming draft, the rockets are not guaranteed a superstar or even a starter. That is such a high risk with low rewards. We should develop our player and save our cap to sign a proven player in this league. Only then will we find someone to build around.

It could possibly get us the number 1 pick. If we somehow become worse than the cavs, raptors, and hornets (which would be damn shame), then we only have a 25% chance.

I suppose this will never be addressed by the NBA, but having teams even remotely feel they have to purposely get terrible in order to be good again is a travesty.

Drummond or Davis could be the next Hakeem... Well they're big and would get to work the with Dream here.

I rather tank this year. We are almost halfway through the season already and Morey knows you can only rebuild in the draft or through free agency. Free agents didn't work out well this year so they better tank! We can not win a championship with this current squad so might as well work for next season and prepare ourselves for new players and marketing schemes.

You could always trade for a superstar come draft time. That's how Boston receive Garnett and Ray Allen.

Exactly. Because we've had so much success with our big name free agent signings.

    Shandon Anderson.
    Mo Taylor.
    Stromile Swift.
    Trevor Ariza.

And of course right now we can't even lure a middling borderline all-star like Nene here.

WHO THE **** DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO JOIN OUR S** *** MEDIOCRE TEAM AND WHY?

The draft may not be a sure thing - but it's the ONLY way we're going to acquire a superstar. And until we do, everything this team does (unless it'll help better position the team for the draft) is absolutely pointless.

I just don't even understand you people with your mediocre wet dreams of a core of Pau Gasol, Nene and Lowry. What would we call that? The Medium 3? Because it sure as hell isn't big.

I agree with your sentiment, but completely disagree with your opinion of our team with Pau and Nene. Given our complimentary players, that is a 4 seed in the West. Morey made that happen through trade, except we have an EGO maniac of a commish who acted in the extreme. All of this is besides the point. Pau Nene is not gonna happen. So i agree with you that we need to consider the draft if we are trying for a superstar.

I think Clippers have Minny's first pick.

Unfortunately, the Clippers probably wouldn't want Martin w/o Paul, and they probably won't get Paul without that pick.

Is the Charlotte pick (the one chicago has) unprotected? I'd send one of our 2-guards for that, Charlotte's gonna suck this year.

    Kobe was drafted
    Hakeem was drafted
    Jordan drafted
    Tim Duncan? Drafted
    Pippen? drafted
    Karl Malone? drafted
Only teams who get free agents like Shaq, Gasol, Garnett, Ray Allen, Kareem Abdul Jabar to win championships? Yeah you guessed it. Lakers and Celtics.

    Dallas? drafted Dirk
    Miami? drafted Dwayne Wade
Nuggets when they were good? drafted Carmelo
Cavs when they were good? drafted Lebron
    Bulls? drafted their MVP
    Orlando??? drafted Dwight Howard

You see some kind of theme here yet?

There will never be another Dream, please stop that talk.

We will not "tank" a season to hold on to draft picks. The draft is no guarantee for anything. Les has already said he does not want to have a sorry team. He wants a competitive team and make improvements through trades and payer development. Yeah I know you gonna say we tried that and Stern blocked us... We will just try again. We might be players at the deadline once again.

We have a good deep team so let's see what we have with them first to know what we need.

Only 6 of those drafted won a title. Dirk was had in a trade from Milwaukee. It took time and the teams eventually built the team up around them. And yes the big market cities do have an advantage over other teams when it comes to attracting star players. That will never change.

We tried to build up around TMac and Yao, but they got injured too often. We are going in a new direction now. Let's see where this goes.

YEs you do give up half your team for a top draft pick in next years draft. Not for a old as dirt Pau Gasol. Yes in that case i would include Lowry for a chance to get a top line player finally. Scola and Martin. or if they choose Lowry and one of our young guys and one of our draft picks to move up in the draft.

If we lose alot and Knickerbockers are hit with injuries we could have the first two picks... it could happen.
