You know what I'd find intriguing about both teams? The defense. The final score could be 30-28. lol. The offenses would be interesting. TMac vs. Drexler. The 3 point shooting. I think defensively two things beat the current Rockets team. Teams that run like mad before our defense sets or teams that can nail open 3's that they eventually will get if they're patient. The Rockets team of '94/'95 could pass the ball around the horn to open players to bang the 3. Oddly enough, that's what the current team is designed to do. The general philosophy of both teams have a lot of similarities. Get it in to Yao/Hakeem. If it's not available, pass it around the horn to guys that can hit the 3. Combine that with a very athletic swingman that can run the court and is uber-athletic : TMac/Drexler. All that being said, I'll take the '94/'95 Rox because they had so many clutch players, but many of those clutch players were role players. The current team doesn't have those clutch role players outside of Head.
Also, one more thing to add : Comparing position by position to arrive as to who would be better/win is probably not a good idea. JVG has proven he can take average defensive talent and make them work as a unit. In other words, the sum is greater than the parts. His philosophy is man defense and help defense. Rudy's philosophy was Hakeem defense - if your man gets by you, don't worry - the Beast is waiting in the paint to devour all those who encroach.
