I saw that Finch will be promoted on Feigen's twitter. I'm almost positive that he will continue to run the Princeton offense with this team. Maybe him and the assistants will put together a nice defense, and McHale is strictly teaching the guys the game, motivating, and a HOF player that the players will like. Hopefully this means a trade with Minnesota coming soon too.

Trying to find a bright side here: Remember the last time the Rockets hired a former NBA All-Star forward as their coach?

We've officially entered Bizarro World. If there's anyone "up there," please show us some mercy. Thanks in advance.

I like the hire and think McHale was the best of the available options.

It took me a while to get over my hatred of the old celtics teams, but McHale fits the team's current needs. Respect around the league, a new public face for the organization, someone who will be in sync with the front office, a good coach for developing big men, a motivator... This is great news. Now, we just need more talent. Can't wait for the draft.

Maybe Mchale can recruit like Pat Riley did with the Miami Heat. He could show up on Dwight Howard's door step with his 3 nba championship rings, look him in the eyes and say come be a champion :)

i like it alot too. despite the fact that i feel richard justice is delusional half the time, his blog post about mchale seemed balanced and reasonable and helps me conclude that this may be the best fit for us at this moment in time.

I wanted Casey at first, but I've talked myself into McHale. I think it's a good hire.

More than anything though I'm happy this thing is over.

I'm obviously not Clutch and have no inside sources, but the Chron is reporting this:
Which I imagine would mean that some of the assistants they want to hire are still under contract with other teams.

Always classy, Dwane Casey thanks Alexander, Rox organization. "They ran an extensive search, did their homework and made their decision."

The widely-respected Dwane Casey gets passed by once again, this time by the man who fired him in Minnesota.

    Still struggling with this....

During the 86 Finals, he signed autographs in the Houston airport saying "Houston sucks."

Hey Clutch, my source over at the Mavericks just texted me that they are laughing hysterically at this hire. I, myself, don't like it at all.

Casey is a better man than I am. If I had lost out to Vinny freakin' Del Negro--not once, but TWICE--for NBA head coaching gigs, I'd be pretty bitter about any subsequent jobs I lost out on.

He'll get his shot. I wish him nothing but success. Except when he's coaching against the Rockets.
