Have to say it feels bizarre to be on the same side of an issue with Abbott and Patrick, but hey, strange bedfellows and all that. Looking pretty good for Cullen Blvd. right now. Not the actual street, obviously. That's beyond saving.
They did, but it goes back farther than that. It's been a series of moves that got UH here that are only obvious in retrospect... Dave Maggard taking a chance on Art Briles, Case Keenum being granted a 6th year, and, most crucially, the students voting for an increase in fees to build the stadium. If Robertson still stood, I think there's no way UH is a candidate today. Fertitta, Herman, and most of all Khator have been indispensable. They all deserve grills.
For sure, assuming we finally make it to the P5. This has been a long journey back into national relevance. Can't wait for it to be over.
I happily concede to your breath of knowledge. That was before my time at UH. And that last line is CLASSIC.
Yes, gentrification is just now hitting our area in the last few years (you are around the corner from me if you are near the new TSU entrance). But we are in the middle, not the bottoms. Once the park is done we should see that part move faster.
Just got a response from by buddy who works in the Texas Legislature. He refused to talk to me over email. lol That is a very good sign.
WTF? Dan Patrick of all people? What does he mean "no deal". Does Dan Patrick have any power to make a deal? Where the hell is Sheila Jackson Lee?
I'd be willing to bet they get an influx of season ticket inquiries tomorrow. Re upped ours after the debacle that was Levine because I liked Hermans style. Was a good choice. Seems to be a lot of smoke from the powers that be. Hard time thinking the Coogs and other Coogs don't get in at this point. Maybe Tigers and Bearcats to make it an all feline expansion?
Anyone else get the feeling Houston will go to the Big 12, Texas will build a Houston campus, and somewhere right around that same time the Big 12 will implode and Texas and will go off to greener pastures leaving Houston in a diminished conference while allowing the UT System a grip in their own backyard? If I am Houston, I wouldn't bargain without a guarantee that Texas plans to stay right where they are. The UH system could be seriously burned by all of this if they are not smart and careful.
