Didn't TransCanada said 20k themselves? You are even going higher than their own estimate!

And while an independent study put it at 2-5k.

    1. What's wrong with being made in America...?

    2. What's wrong with creating even more jobs here than in another country...?

these would be high paying jobs, also

not the kind of jobs Obama "created" that result in stagnant or declining wage growth

It was by the state department.

The jobs number is irrelevant anyways since it has no environmental impact

Ah, I think we might be talking about different things. I was referring to temp construction workers for putting the pipeline down. You might be referring to direct/indirect/etcs workers. Not sure.

Anyway, here is where that originate from:

    http://www.ilr.cornell.edu/sites/ilr..._Reportpdf.pdf

And If I remember correctly, TransCanada has said that their own initial study (the Perryman Group study that the Cornell study said is flawed) is no longer relevant.

I think the real question here is how will this really help America ? Will any of this oil be used by Americans or will i be shipped to other countries with America not getting anything in return but a chance of a environmental spill. JUST asking

I don't know why the idiot is still talking about this project as a job creator: ~5,000 construction jobs for 4 years and then done and he doesn't like Obama creating 200,000 PERMANENT jobs EVERY month for a while now?

I am glad you brought that up.
I am guessing these jobs pay about the same but at least they are permanent jobs. When you lay down the pipeline, what happen to their jobs?

I don't think those trucks are transporting Canada oil. They are moving oil from Bakken in North Dakota.

But even if true the logic is bad. Computers and machines have cost jobs. Should we stop those?

You are arguing from both sides of your mouth.
Did you say the pipeline create jobs or not?

Or do you want to argue that building the pipeline will lose jobs in the end but we are advancing the technology?

Wut? Computers and machines are an inevitability of technology. Outsourcing is just greedy executives trying to be more profitable by exploiting foreign labor laws and wages at the expense of the US economy.
