Can anyone recommend a good web hosting service and domain registration?

I wanted to get an ecommerce site up.

    Thanks.

I've used 1and1 for a long time and have had no problems. I highly recommend them. E-Commerce sites I think begin at about $9.99/month. Make sure you add SSL certs to it for safer transactions and for your customers' peace of mind. Good luck.

You might want to look into Goodsie - http://goodsie.com/ - depending on what you're selling. Aside from that, I don't get fancy, I just use GoDaddy and move onto other aspects of the project.

Looks like a good solution if you don't want that much customizing. Elaborate on "I don't get fancy", please.

It means I don't over-think the domain and hosting part of the equation, it inhibits the creative juices, I just Google-up a promo code and buy everything from GoDaddy because the Superbowl told me to.

Hosting-- Hostgator. Use coupon code "TEXAS" for 1c for the first month.

Domain- Register.com. Use coupon code "reg2ea" for a $2 domain.

Definitely Hostgator. With the baby package you get unlimited domains and now they are offering Basekit as part of the hosting package...it's a handy free website builder. I am about as far from a web developer as they come but I found it easy to pick up - here's the site I did with it: www.ocean-odysseys.com

Very basic but for what we needed it was ideal and very cheap when you consider it's part of the hosting package you're already paying for. The Hostgator technical support is amazing as well.
