It would make sense if they needed to avoid the luxury tax, since the trade can save them like $5mil. But they're currently under the tax after the Dwight trade. So there's no incentive from the Hornets side to do this.
I really enjoyed how the guy admitted he was full of crap, and then people keep talking here about how the trade might work out for both teams
this turned into a 0 star thread real quick main thing I hate about the offseason and trade deadline is all the trolls and and wannabe insiders with off brand sauces trying to get Twitter famous
If this twitter guy is a fake then remove this thread. Wasted my time reading it, and got my hopes up for nothing.
This twitter account may be fake news... but if the Rockets are looking into a trade with the Pelicans then Batum could be the guy. Even though he has an added 2 years on top of what the Rockets would have paid Anderson, Batum is a better defender, younger and perhaps even a better scorer than Ariza was. Add the fact that his assists per game over the past 3 years has been hovering around 6, that may not be a bad deal.
It's an added 1 year over Ryno's contract. Anderson: Two more years, $41.6M Batum: Three more years, $76.7M Batum is owed nearly twice as much. That contract is even worse than Ryno's.
Who knows maybe Morey will see this thread and approach the Hornets with the trade. Marvin Williams would be a really nice pick up.
