That's because Thabeet sucks, one game of empty stats doesn't change anything.

While I am certainly not going to call Thabeet good, I am curious why you refer to his stats yesterday as empty? He was playing prime, early minutes.

Anyone thinks Thabeet will have a better career than Darko? Serious question.

I saw the Thunder play last night and I thought Thabeet looked a little better. He fouled out in 22 minutes, but he didn't look lost the entire time.

However, Thabeet is a dangerous player. When he steps on Durants foot in practice, and Durant goes down, people are going to understand that it's dangerous to have Thabeet on the team.

While he'll never have the passing skills of Chris Webber, he at least has a shot to start for a playoff team? (To be fair, Darko might have started at some point and I just don't remember.)

After lasting an entire 23 minutes on tuesday without fouling out and amazingly committing just one PF in 10 minutes on thursday, Hasheem the Dream is down to an impressive 9 PFs per 36 minutes on the season.

He's a scrub now, he was a scrub last year, and coachbadlee, DD, leebig et al. were dumb for continually insisting that he should be in the rotation last year. Thabeet's not good at basketball.

Can't tell for sure at that angle. It looks it he tripped himself.

Yeap. If you watch the slow mo at the end it's clear he tripped with his own feet. That's why the OKC bench was laughing, they are gonna be riding him on that play as soon as the game was over.

lol, what? It is clear Davis clipped his leg. Watch Ed Davis' gate if you can't see Thabeet being clipped at the ~27 sec mark.

They were laughing because Thabeet just stole the ball and was starting a one man breakaway. THABEET!

You got hand to him. Thabeet is hustling. He may not no what the heck he's doing, He may be clumsy, he may foul like a madman, but he hustles.
It kinda looked like he had a little hop in his step on that steal.
Davis barely touches him though. Not enough for all of that. That was a patented Thabeet flop.

Big man shot the gap and almost got a breakaway dunk!

Beet is so strong and mobile now! It must be a nice luxury for the Thunder to finally have a big they can pull off the bench with a different skill set than Nick Collison, who is more of a screener anyway than a defensive force in the paint.

I have seen Thabeet in a few OKC games so far this year and while he did have a few nice moments, in general he is still very lost on the court. He just doesn't have that feel for where the ball is and where teammates and opponents are in relation to him and more importantly how much closing speed/length he has. He's doing all the things they tell him to in practice like when a shot goes up looking for a guy to box out, but it obviously is something he has to think about and process and by the time he finds someone, he has to figure out where the ball is again and likely will miss the rebound. At this stage in his career those things shouldn't be so mechanical. If I were OKC I would just go zone when he is in the ball game and not have him worry about the rest. At that point he is just a huge obstacle in the paint rather than having him out of position because he is having trouble following the ball AND keeping up with his man.

Another good game for Thabeet tonight. He is currently out playing Perkins.

Perkins was +9 while Thabeet was whopping -1.

Dude just give up on this guy. Its ok to be wrong here and there. I was totally wrong about Parsons and Morris. Gotta move on.

First, comparing two players just based off +/- is a bit facile, don't you think?

But, if you insist on +/- being the best way to compare 2 players on the same team (despite them playing with different lineups and vs. different competition) lets do it! Comparing the +/- in games they both played.

    Perkins on the left.
    -6 vs. -2
    -4 vs. +13
    -3 vs. -4
    +14 vs. +8
    -14 vs. +5
    -6 vs. -3
    -1 vs. -5
    +9 vs. -1

    Total of
    -11 for Perkins
    +11 for Thabeet

    Perkins has been terrible.

And while Thabeet is still Thabust, he is exceeding all expectations as a backup. (At 800k per year to boot.)

    Perkins makes 10x Thabeet. :( 10x!

Hasheem looks so comfortable out there. He seems to have found his role really nicely on the Thunder second sqaud.
