Bima already pointed out that waiving Chandler actually costs us more than having him because of his $600,000 guarantee plus the minimum roster charge is $490k. His salary isn't that much. Coon apparently is not familiar enough with Parsons' guarantee.
If Moori has taught us anything, its not to listen to anything the media has to say. He makes moves on his terms.
If Thomas Robinson's contract forces us to give up a valuable prospect like Jones, Motienjunas or Royce White for 50 cents on the dollar, it is also costing us assets just like giving up a 1st round pick.
whats wrong with asik? dude grew so much and i think he is more than enough to win a title. lets solve the pf problem first.
Common sense tells you that if a superstar wants to play for your team, you do what you can to get him on board. We can't pass on Dwight Howard (if he wants to come here) for the slight possibility of picking up a star power forward down the road. That's a dangerous gamble that has a high chance of not paying off. Dwight wants to play with James Harden? Bye Bye Omer. Loved you as a Rocket but it's a business.
Rockets get Dwight, it is much easier to fix PF spot. Either Smith keeps it, Rockets trade for one, rookie develops, or Rockets use MLE in 2014 offseason on someone like PPat.
Thomas Robinson's contract will not force us to give up a valuable asset. I have no idea where you are getting this info. The bottom line is that if we need salary space to sign Howard it will get done. If it takes trading Asik then so be it.....he isn't needed anyway if you have Howard. If it takes trading Robinson then fine, but it isn't as if we will have to package him with some stellar player in order to get him off the books.
Carl ur crazy if u think no team would give up at the very least a mid 1st round pick for Trob. I think ur hate for him or the love for pat has you blinded. Trob had not been horrible every time he's on the floor he gets boards dunks or steals and draws fouls. He not useless on the court like ppl would think from reading your posts. He's a rookie who's played 15 or so games for a good organization. Had dmo or the new pet tjones played ovr in sac u would be saying tht about those guys. He's shown alot of potential for a rookie big.
Rockets can get down to 38 mil in salary just by trading Garcia, Delfino and Brooks to a team looking to get under the luxury tax for a future pick and they'd have until July too decline any of their team options. Or the Rockets can just decline the options. That 17 mil or so should be more than we can max offer to Howard or Paul. No reason too get rid of any of the rookie scale contracts. If Howard agrees to terms with the Rockets we could easily shed Asik's 8.5 mil for a future first and a great bench player. The same thing in relation to CP3 and Lin.
Of course you had to make this about Thomas Robinson. Lol. Guys, Dwight is a pipe dream. I don't know what's worse, the mass delusion or posting hoopsworld in an attempt to confirm it.
