A friend told me recently about this event called 'Mixers and Elixirs' hosted by the Museum of Natural Science once every month for the summer. Heard that it's a surprisingly fun atmosphere. Food trucks and a cash bar are present as well. Just curious whether anyone on CF has ever gone or will be going.
Girlfriend has gone to quite a few. I've never been but will be there this weekend. Don't really know what to expect from it.
Heard from a friend that this is a great singles event, so just curious if it's worth the 20 bucks at the front door.
Ah, I got 2 tickets for $28 on Living Social. At least a discounted rate if you know someone else to bring along.
I'm not sure what he means. I used to go, the crowd seemed to have a drastic range in age but it seemed mostly younger to me. A very UH-looking crowd. I usually just wound up at Grand Prize by 11, trying to gig hipster chicks.
It's a dead crowd. Not that it's a bad thing but 26 year old me got bored quickly. The girls are ok. It would be a great place to take a date. I'm actually taking my GF this weekend.
thanks for the input. Unfortunately, I'm going alone this weekend and hoping to resolve this by meeting someone there. I just hope that people are able to be easily approached instead of being in a large group. Hoping for some luck!!
It's a pretty fun event, especially if the band is good. I haven't been in a couple years but the crowd used to be a pretty good mix of people and age ranges. I never went as a single person but it seemed like a target rich environment. It's certainly not a club type scene and is a little more laid back but with music, drinks, food and history/museum stuff...fun is there to be had if you want. There is certainly lots of things you can be use as a conversation starter
Had a pretty good time at this. Was neat to basically get into the museum for less than the price of normal admission. Pretty crowded in there but overall pretty fun.
