Often the term "Hispanic" is used synonymously with the word "Latino", and frequently with "Latin" as well, as they are used in the U.S. Even though the terms may sometimes overlap in meaning, they are not completely synonymous.
Jewish? I remember this ad from when I was a little kid. You used to see them all over the subway cars in NYC in the 60s.
A term created by the capitalist to generalize all spanish speaking cultures . As time progressed, we had no choice but to embrace the term =/ For example, I'm filling out my warranty for my new wii...and the choices are A. Anglo american B. Asian American C. African American D. hispanic If you were talking about "hispanic?" on the threads, It came from from a poster coming to the assumption that the driver of a car was hispanic (because she had 3 kids in the back of her car) I'm glad people find it funny, like the also popular "Illegals". Makes you wonder... why did Big brother and the thought police exile Wangdoodle yet allow such hypocrisy? But heaven forbid, some lady at a sanwhich shop thinks you don't have an accent, then that is just wrong and completely out of line!
Ha, you guys are jerks. He's asking why everyone is saying it on the bbs lately. It comes from a thread a few months back, let me see if I can find it.
Its from a thread a while back. Someone randomly responded Hispanic? EDIT: Thanks to Bobblehead in this thread, http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=130207&highlight=hispanic

Went to SA earlier this summer (don't hold it against me - I hate the Spurs, but it was a fun family vacation). In the market place I saw a shirt that said something like "I'm not Hispanic - I'm not from Spain, I'm not Latino - I'm not from Latin America, I'm Mexican - I'm from Mexico." I honestly never really thought about it and was really caught by surprise. Do most Hispanic, Latinos, Mexicans really think this? Seriously, this makes sense, but what is the consensus? I;ve been taught that the PC version was Latino or Hispanic until I saw this shirt. Please advise.
