“Let’s raise the stakes, ” the 31-year-old rapper told hip-hop Web site SOHH.com in an interview posted Friday. “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out anymore solo albums.” Did he really say this?? Why is everyone suddenly so eager to retire?? There's no way Kanye outsells him but it's still a bold statement to make.. I love Kanye and 50's music, but sometimes they both need to just shutup and make music...
I hope Kanye sells more so 50 Cent goes away. It's no contest in my opinion. I can't stand the dude personally, but Kanye definitely puts out higher quality stuff.
GO KANYE GO! I hate 50 Cent's music with a passion. Complete garbage comes out his lips. I blame him for the start of the downfall in hip hop. I hope Kanye outsells him so we don't have to hear any more trash but those chances are slim. Hell, I might have to go buy Kanye's album to help the cause.
Are ANY Hip-hop records solo anymore? It seems like every song out these days has someone else rapping/singing with them. (usually Ferrell or Timberland- those guys are everywhere).
Since when does Kanye not shutup and just make music? 50 is always the one talkin mess. I don't see how you can "love" anything 50 cent does. He is complete crap. I agree with the statement about him being the cause of the downfall of rap. Although it was already in the process, he just pushed it along.
Well I know why 50 is eager to retire http://www.usatoday.com/money/advertising/adtrack/2007-07-29-vitamin-water-50-cent_N.htm
well, rumors state that 50 cent...owned 10% of V-Water....and at 4.1 billion ...do the math..... He been saying since the deal closed....V-Water, nothing else really matters...I put him closer to getting about 400 mil instead of 100 mil. maybe thats why they keeping the numbers so quiet.
being suit and tie business men is soooo not gangster. what a bunch of wankers. wankstas wankers, whatevers.
Seems to me 50 rose to popularity based on 'In da Club,' and the real draw of that song was the beat not his rapping. Since then I don't think he's come close to having a decent song, but then again I'm usually not in a position to come across many of his songs. Basically *I* feel like he's a mainstream artist who deep down is a one-hit wonder.
I hate 50, but I have to admit P.I.M.P., 20 questions, Hate It or Love It (technicaly Game, but seriously...), and Magic Stick did pretty well. The new song with Ciara is getting a lot of play too.
Diss me all ya want but 50's first album was great. I will agree that the lyrics weren't the greatest ever but as an overall album it rocked.
