He's arguably having the best season in Rockets history,but do you now trust Harden in the playoffs?

did anyone here trust pbev as a starter and slou, dekker, and harrell as 7th,8th,9th players in championship team?

Its funny how he spoiled us with 40 pts 10 assist explosions that a 25 pt 8 assist 36 mins in a meaningless game is suddenly considered taking a game off for haters

Short answer..no.

He needs to stop trying to bait fouls and you can't win consistently being that careless with the ball. He just throws away possessions and stops the flow of the offense way too much

He wasn’t terrible but 9-21 after going 2-infinity isn’t gonna cut it especially when Gordon is damn near a shooting liability. Thst said we shot almost 37% from 3.... the wolves shooting almost 57% is one helluva anomaly. That won’t happen again.

But good god can we find the offense we had all damn year???

Yes, the foul baiting is so annoying. It’s like he ignores how the game is going and will continue to try to force the issue. Ryan Anderson was hot down the stretch and several times Harden ignored him when he was open only to force his way into several Wolves players hoping to get a foul. He hasn’t learned to recognize the way the game is being called and adjust accordingly.

 

It would be so much better if Harden's shortcomings were all down to mental effort and laziness. The truth is, Harden's lack of athleticism - both vertically and lateral quickness - is the reason why he's so inconsistent on offense and defense. Harden just cannot easily rise up and shoot over his defender as other great players in the past. The whole point of stepback is to create space, because otherwise he's probably getting blocked. But it's still disappointing to see that Harden can't even take advantage of wide open midrange shots. This lack of midrange game really hurts him in the playoffs, during which the 3PT line is always heavily guarded.

Anyways, the reason Harden struggles against double-team/pressure defense; the reason Harden relies so much on ref-baiting; the reason Harden is so woefully awful on perimeter defense (but not in the post); it all has a common root, if you think about it.

No Rockets fan wants to hear this, because it's like saying your child is not lazy, just has low IQ. If it's just lack of effort, there always a possibility of playing better next time by trying harder. But if it's more to do with inherent, physical limitation, well what do you do? Harden is just who he is at this point in his career.
