Literally his dream role, and he leaves it. He was probably the biggest fan of the source media on the entire set, too. With that said, if a person leaves his passion project, you know there's some major red flags with the project, itself.
He last December said he'd be down for 7 seasons of Witcher, I kinda doubt superman comes that close to that potential pay day. But there are a lot of rumours that the netflix directors don't like the Witcher source material much and want to change it up further, so I can see him being disappointed how his dream role turned out and leaving.
it's like netflix has been giving their very best to lose as many subscriptions as possible in the last few years. when will elon come and purchase netflix and save the world?
Cavill carries The Witcher. They couldn't sign a better replacement like Charlie Hunnam or did Netflix cut their budget?
while they’re at it, they should also recast half the cast to actually look like the characters in the game.
In a vacuum, the role of Superman vs. Geralt is no contest. Superman wins every time in a landslide. If he just left Geralt cold, then you could ask what happened. I do believe he gave the Witcher credibility it did not yet have with the masses. So he put it on the map. But Chris Hemmsworth is almost certainly a near equal so that's a solid replacement for that role.
