There is a stomach bug going around. My wife got it from a friend family gathering. Vomiting, Diarrhea, and slight fever. Thought it was food poisoning because the people there all had some of the symptom. 2 days after my wife's symptoms fade, my wakes up and vomits everywhere...lol (realize it my be a virus). About an hour or so after I clean that up, I start feeling the stomach issues. For the next 9 hours, Had 10 cycles (would vomit about 5 times in those cycles) of vomiting before that stop. About 6 hours later, the diarrhea came in various squirts. Around the 24 hour mark, my body finally stops expelling stuff. Weak...I solider on. Of course, I had it worse than anyone...
My wife and 6yo had this last week. It was truly bad. My 6yo woke me up at 3am on Wednesday by puking on me, puking again on the way to the toilet. He also puked on his brother on the way out of their room. My wife had it Friday-Sunday so I was playing Mr. Mom for half a week since I stayed home with the 6yo Thursday and Friday. The little guy was so wiped out that he fell asleep on the floor Friday, something he never does. Mysteriously, my other two boys and I didn't get it at all. But you're in luck, @Mr.Scarface , my 6yo still has terrible gas and had some sharts last night so there's still fun in store for you!
I just spoke with a college saying her oldest child had this .. . and many kids in his class Rocket River
My 2 year old had this or something similar two weeks ago from today. He started around 2am and stopped throwing up by the end of the day. Saturday night had 102 fever and turned into a bad cold. Not sure if it was just something different or caught it while immune system was weak maybe. Took him to doctor on that next Monday morning and doctor tested and not flu or covid. He kept messing with his tongue and wouldn't eat much for a couple days. He had 102 fever for about 4 days on and off even with Motrin and Tylenol. I was home with him the rest of the week and ended up having to sleep with him. I ended up getting whatever it was. I felt like I had bad allergies for a couple days but then it ramped up and I have never had a cold like this since the flu and this was probably worse. I took a couple covid tests and negative. I had a visit with doctor who said a lot of viral stuff going around. He ruled out flu and covid before he gave me 4 medications. The day I started them I lost my sense of smell and everything tastes bland. Doctor said it could be medication or rhinovirus causing that. I figure it was the sickness and that's why my kid kept messing with his tongue. I'm five days into that now. Today I had a lot of stomach problems and burning sinuses. Really frustrating. I was working out every day before and if I go on a walk now I start wheezing and run out of breath even with an inhaler. My kid's teacher told us rhinovirus is going around the school bad. Lots of sick kids. So my doctor might have been right. My pregnant wife started getting sick a few days ago. She's mainly coughing with sore throat. She had stomach issues today though. She got tested for covid since she works with kids and she is negative. There must be a lot going around right now. I know this isn't what everyone else has but damn it sucks. Rhinovirus can just lead to a normal cold or can develop into worse. I think mine turned into bronchitis. Hopefully my wife avoids that part. I would've thought this was covid but none of us tested positive no matter what type of test. Hope everyone is feeling better.
Damn sorry to hear that guys. It sounds to me like a stomach cold. When the rhinovirus gets in your GI tract instead of saying in your respiratory tract. Had that once in Hong Kong with similar symptoms. Was wiped for three days and couldn’t even eat rice.
Really sounds like Covid. I had a terrible flu whatever in September. Probably the most sick I’ve been in 10+ years. Four Covid tests, all negative. It put me on my back for two weeks and took me months to recover fully.
I just talked with a friend who's a teacher up here in DFW and asked about this. She said the same thing's been going around up here, and it's been bad. She knows several kids and co-workers' kids that have had it.
Really what I thought it was. Yeah this was comparable for me or worse to when I had flu. I was stuck taking care of a 2 year old in the middle of it all or I would've just stayed in bed. I think my mom had whatever we had around the same time my son got sick and she did 2 covid tests with her doctor because she has an immune system deficiency and has been getting treatment for it. Both negative though. I dunno much about rhinovirus but between my doctor and my kids teacher saying it is spreading around then I dunno what else to think it is if it's not covid. It's definitely hit me the worst in the family though.
My wife is on the upswing from something similar, but almost more covid-like symptoms. Started as a stomach bug, but ended with severe fatigue, congestion and drainage and a lack of smell.
Have any of y'all had Lucky Charms recently? https://nypost.com/2022/04/01/lucky-charms-cereal-causing-vomiting-diarrhea-report/amp/
Dehydration can be bad, if you can’t keep anything down for a while goto the ER so they can at least get IV fluids in tou
