What's Dwight's contract going to be next season? 5 years $150M?

Yes. The Heat have jumped on the crazy train with Bosh and Dragic in the front row.

All that needs to happen now is for the Mavs to sit right behind then with Parsons and Deandre Jordan.

Pat is trying to keep the Heat relevant.. First Bosh max and now Dragic... Wade is looking less likely to stay with the Heat!

That Parsons deal doesn't look so bad anymore (and Ariza's looks GREAT)

Yes, Trevor's contract is a jewel that Morey should hang on to. I was deeply impressed with his play during the season, and during the playoffs. Please manage to keep the guy, Daryl!

Riley has made some atrocious signings.

This is the same guy that offered Juwan Howard $100 million.

For those calling this an atrocious signing, keep in mind that Dragic's salary in 2016-17 and 18-19 will be about 19-20 million while the salary cap at the time will be at around 90 million and 120 million.

So in 2016-17, 19million will be 21% of the salary cap OR equivalent to a 13 million salary last season.

In 2017-18, 20 million will be 16% of the salary cap or equivalent to a 9.9 million dollar salary last season.

If Dragic plays at his current level or better, or even slightly worst in 2016-18, having him take up less 22% and then 16% of Miami's salary cap isn't that bad.

For context, after the 2015-16 season, when Dwight Howard will most assuredly opt out of his contract, he will be eligible to sign a contract for up to 35% of the projected 88-90+ million salary cap for 2016-17. That's a starting a salary of 31.5 million.

    edit*

the projected cap number for 2017-18 is 108 million not 120 as I erroneously stated in the prior post.

that changes dragic's salary % for that season to 18.5% or equivalent to 11.10 million last year (62 million cap)

    That's LMA money, Riley.

The Heat don't spend over the tax, they have to spend the money anyway, and they needed some kind of name that wasn't going to be injured to appease their broadcaster.

Exactly. 2nd tier talents signed to max contracts that will fail to compete with Cavs in the East.

You have to admit the heat have a pretty respectable and fun team, even if over paid and somewhat mediocre

PG: Dragic / Chalmers / Napier
    SG: Wade / Johnson
    SF: Deng / Winslow
PF: Bosh / McRoberts / Haslem
    C : Whiteside / Birdman
