I say no, his health concerns are too serious I don't want to be the team that had Chris Bosh die on the court
They always come back- Josh Smith denied us when we signed Dwight. Now Bosh denied us back then and signs with us now. Not complaining but would love bosh to come. We need to do extensive medical testing tho. Like 4-5 doctors need to look into what happens if someone scratches him and he starts bleeding etc. and if the blood clots can recur. If all that is good sign me up on bosh. If we could get his shooting and rebounding at backup 5. I'd be the happiest guy on planet
I'm not saying 100% "no" to Bosh, but @Reeko's post is my concern as well. I mean, if the Miami doctors think it is too risky, are the Houston doctors going to say "ok?" They better be REAL sure because like Reeko mentioned, we don't want to have Bosh die on the court. So yeah, the Bosh thing would be concerning.
I agree. His health is paramount. If he were cleared by docs who could truly clear him then HECK YES! But, if he lasted short of playoffs then what happens to chances? I wish I could know that Chris Bosh could know.
If I'm Marley I do it. Sign him, he's got three well managed years left. Trade Anderson and Bosh can start at the four next to Clint, I'd take a dying man over Anderson
I read some on this and what's ironic (and sad) is that it happened right in front of Eric Spoelstra, who was the PG for Portland university.
That's sad. Maybe a big reason as to why they refused to play him even when he was trying to shrug off the doctor's original diagnosis. Good insight alethios.
my thoughts as well, that Spoelstra didn't want a repeat of that event. Can't say that I blame him, if that's the case.
Teams doctors can be overly conservative (i.e. to fail DMo on a physical) or overly liberal (happens in football, get back out there!), depending on the financial incentive of their boss. Miami's docs may have been told to error on the side of caution so they could get his cap hit off the books. Also, is there insurance involved?
Do the Rockets still own the rights to Yao Ming's sperm? If so, we should use it to impregnate a woman, raise a basketball God, and then dominate the NBA. That's a more viable plan to me.
Apparently for Bosh to come back he has to go before 3 doctors. 1 doctor from the league, 1 doctor from the NBAPA, and 1 other doctor. With this information in mind, if he DID PASS, then I would be ok with it, because it is not some "team only doctor" clearing him. That said, it is probably unlikely he passes that doctor troika.
