It's been 10 years or so, but we are off to Africa again. This trip was originally planned for May 2020, but...COVID. Postponed to May 2021 and then to October 2021. Going to a camp in Botswana and one in Johannesburg. I think we have 8-10 game drives scheduled. We will probably also do a walking safari. Afterwards, heading to Capetown for a few days. We will do a kayaking tour to see the penguins. I'll post pictures. Not looking forward to the 15+ hour flight from ATL to JNB. There is a bit of a chance we will be upgraded to Delta One, but I'm not counting on it.
Sounds amazing. How many of ya'll are going and please give some tips about where to stay. It's been a dream of mine to spend a month in Southern Africa.
My wife, daughter and 28 year old granddaughter. I'll post more info later. But... if you want to use a travel agent, Kota at Travel Beyond is great. They can set your up really well. It's a good sign that he is still there 10 years after we first used him.
dopeness. should also try north africa. they look interesting in action thriller movies. while you’re down there, i’ve heard great things about zamunda
If you are going to Africa make sure and do the following: 1) Take a 12:30 flight 2) Bless the rains 3) Take some time to do the things you never had
My 83 year old mom just went on a 20+ hour or so trip (15 hour flight, 2.5 hour layover, then another 4 hour flight). Right before she left, she found out she had some kind of tear in a shoulder tendon or something. She basically said "oh well, no time to take care of that now... gotta do what you gotta do" and took off. I asked her how she'd be dragging a suitcase with her arm in that condition. She said she had 2 arms. LOL. Great. Now he's going to be stopped along the way by some African hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies.
Have a great trip. I’ve got a 15+ hour flight from DFW to Aukland in December so not looking forward to that. I’m willing to spend a lot of time if it gets me out of Dallas. heard a lot of great things about Capetown and would love to go sometime.
