True, but it still says a lot that they thought about it in the first place. You'd never hear this about other big time players. You'd never hear that the Rockets discussed trading Harden, Thunder trading Westbrook, hell even Draymond Green who isn't a superstar elite player but obviously very good. That the Hawks thought this because they figured they could win without him.
Oh and calling Howard a 12-12 guy isn't leaving out attributes that matter? (He's a 14-13 guy btw). I've watched every signle game, Anderson tries on D, doesn't mean he's a good defender, he's just too slow to match up with most PF's. Your homer opinions are jokes.
that's great you've watched every single game which i highly doubt. doesn't mean much. and nobody called him a good defender but you said he can't play d which is completely false. he has come up big in a ton of games defensively, disregarding that is just plain stupid. This goes back to the dumb notion that people think just because you aren't some elite defender, that automatically gives you the reputation that you cannot play defense. Not sure why you're bringing up howard when that's not what I pointed out.
Dwight Howard is still a very good defensive player. However, does he fit with this current Rockets team? NO. The reason is simple, this team does not depends on defense, this team depends on offense to outscore the other teams. The core defense of this team and the style we played is dictated by our offense, we will have bad defense no matter how you will want to work around it. Having a one sided good defensive player is just a burden, he can't turn around the overall bad defense, but at the same time, if this defensive player has only average or below average offensive skills, that will make him even worse to fit in the team, and that's Dwight's situation. Putting Anthony Davis to team up with Harden will be better? Yes for sure, but probably you will see the improvement more on the offensive side only because he is an upgrade over Capela. But then think about this, when a dominated big man with elite offensive skills to team up with Harden, it will definitely alter the way this offense played and neither Davis and Harden will get the numbers they are getting now. So its not "oh look at this team we only have one superstar Harden, imaging that if we will have 2". It just doesn't work that way, look at Harden, look at Westbrook, there is the reason for them to have stats like these, its NOT only because they were forced to carry the team, to a great deal of extend, it was designed this way.
You responded to a post about Howard in a Howard thread. This isn't a Anderson thread. If someone calls Howard a 12-12 guy being overpaid at 23 mill, I can point out Anderson and his contract because the value of the contract and impact of the two players is relavent and should be obvious to Rocket fans. Also, Anderson is a poor defender and has been his whole career, don't get too persuaded by a couple of individual decent efforts defensively against slow big men in like 3 total games this season. (Grizz twice, Kings once). He's had more then 3 poor performances this season to tip the balance. I do watch every game, you can highly doubt my ass all you want buddy lmao.
who cares if it isn't an anderson thread. If it isn't an Anderson thread like you say why did you point him out initially then. Good one there. So every thread apparently sticks to that specific topic accordingly? Nah it goes based on what is being pointed out and in this case I didn't point out howard. Only your poor misleading post about Ryno. Assuming that you watch every game is true and still say he can't play D at all just solidifies the fact that you probably don't full understand what you're seeing then. That's probably the best explanation at this point.
The Hawks are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Rockets are 7-3. Just saying. (I know they are in the East.) They seem to get a second wind after getting rid of Korver.
it's a little sad seeing how things turn out now, especially since how good dwert was with us in the playoffs in the first 2 years with us.
And that's basically what it all boils down to. The problem is that Dwight has never accepted or been happy with his role on any team he's played for so far. He still fancies himself as some sort of elite post player, when in fact he simply cannot create a shot for himself to save his life and is a liability late in the game because he can't make FT's. I'm not sure Greg Popovich could even fix this guy at this point.
There are only two problems with Dwight: his health and his insistence on those POS postups. Calling him a mental midget and cancer is just hyperbole typical of CF, the same board that claims the Rox is the worst franchise ever for not winning a ring in 2 decades, Mauri should be fired for 9 years with no ring, Le$ is the worst owner in bball and only cares about $$$, Brewer is the worst player in the NBA etc. etc. I guess CF should never be accused of being homers because nobody hates on the Rox and former Rox more than CF does. Sure Dwight isnt a born leader or inspirer of troops. So what? Not everybody is expected to be born with leadership characteristics, just like in your office or school not everyone wants to be class rep or the office president doesnt mean he's a cancer. He's still a productive player and if healthy could be a complementary star on a champion team For DD to call Dwight a cancer is rich considering he is a Parsons fan. Maybe he's getting old and has memory gap, Dwight was the main reason the Rox reached WCF! And he reached the finals with the magic before as the only star of his team! Thats not the resume of a cancer or whatever you guys are labeling him as. Atlanta right now is 4rth seed in the East, clearly the reality is far from rhetoric being said here. Sure Dwight right now is no longer a top tier star, but is he really way worse than other 2nd tier stars like Conley, Iggy, Lowry etc?
