Not discredited. If we had played elite defense, we probably win games 3 and 5 and take it 4-1.

Adjustments that need to be made - Harden needs to always be aggressive to start games instead of hoping for defensive lapses and deferring to teammates to start games.

Need to take some mid-range, where the hell did Harden's stepback go?

Can't have Anderson who only plays offense on the road, and is a negative on both ends at home.

    No, Harden has been discredited.

Moreyball has nothing to do with lazy ass passes and even lazier defense.

Spurs got baseline driving dunks/layups with ease.

The team followed James' b-made effort.

That's the kind of excuse losers usually make, not a superstar that wants to do whatever it takes to win in the playoffs.

And if that really was the reason, then he wouldn't have continued to do it the entire overtime as well.

No, the Cavs are playing exactly the same way, the only difference is they are having a much superior James.

don't worry guys, Morey is gonna crunch a few numbers to get us back to the western conference finals---where James can inevitably choke and we can do this all again with a new coach.

They take mid range shots and go into the post with James. Sure, they take 3's but they take what the defense gives them. They don't actively just hunt 3's and lay ups.

Daryl Morey will never win anything in this league as the GM.

How does someone who is known for being the smartest guy in the room let a player like Jonathan Simmons slip-through the cracks. Spurs basically turned that un-drafted talent into Michael Jordan this play-offs. He's going to get paid big time this off-season.

His stupid "style" of basketball that any cfer can think of. "Just shoot 3s and layups" lol, just a terrible and predictable offense. Every good team shuts us down when our 3s don't hit (just pack the paint and get free blocks), then we're pretty much screwed.

No, Warriors run a sophisticated offense, predicated around off ball movement, cutting and getting easy layups and 3 pointers.

Rockets offense revolves around harden creating everything for his team off the pick n roll.

While the Cavs do penetrate and kick out to shoot open 3s, they don't avoid open 2s or go out of their way to step back to take a three.

Only the Rockets actively avoid midrange shots. No one else.

While Harden has a deservedly taken a lot of blame for this loss tonight. I put the series loss on MDA, I think with some better sets we take game 5 and probably game 3.

It's no coincidence that MDA keeps getting bounced by Pop.

This is also part of Moreyball and his indifference to coaching. We got to the WCF with Dwight, but I wonder what we could have done with an actual talented coach.

Morey is a great GM, and I think not only the warriors, but the league as a whole trending towards Morey's style is a testament that Moreyball has merit, but Morey and Moreyball is not without it's flaws.

    However, I wouldn't say it's discredited.

    Never say never.

It will be very hard. I am coming to realize that this MIT guy just does not know all the aspects of basketball. Or he won't use them.

We cannot bank on making 3s every game or praying JH has a monster game.

    No.

Golden State has shooting, size and athleticism at all positions with the exception of Steph being not super athletic.
Livingston is their backup PG and can rebound and block shots. Draymon can shoot and defend.

They don't jack up as many 3s as we do. It looks like they do because they have 2 of the best 3 point shooters in the game.

This logic is pretty dumb, lots of teams have been successful with 3s and paint system, going back to Nash Suns. Miami's "pace and space" system is just a fancier way of saying lets shoot 3s to provide spacing and then score in the paint. CLE this year, the Warriors and Spurs all run an offense that has almost no mid range in their plays, what mid range shots they do take are free style moves by their players.

Hell even Lebron starts playing PF so he can score in the paint more when its winning time. But ok, lets just ignore the fact that all the top teams dont take mod range shots anymore and pretend the Rox are the only ones doing this.

You seem confused on the philosophy if you somehow think it meshes with "elite defense."

He'll make some weighting adjustments in the variables to show how important steals are and Harden's defense will get better. It's all about statistics right?

I mean, who cares how things actually are in real life? The stats say he's awesome brah.

Haren played like the dog he is.

Morey has been mediocre ever since the rest of the league dived into analytics as well. Since then he's been pretty wack thinking coaches don't matter, firing McHale 6 games in, and this Moreyball ****.

"Just shoot heavily contested 3s and layups all day, and never take mid Js even though they are wide open" yeah, great strategy genius
