Lets see.... Go through the Pakistani embassy (seems safe)... Don't have an Israeli stamp on your passport or you will be kicked out.... Women are immediately taken to a side room and told to cover themselves head to toe..... No alcohol........ Do not shake a woman's hand..... Do not talk politics.... Avoid the major cities... Avoid the IED's... Yeah seems like a great place for an American to visit. Maybe I will take the family next summer.
No, not an obvious troll.... my wife is Assyrian and I have a long standing desire to visit the Middle East again (I did years ago). Contrary to the stereotype the Middle East is beautiful, the food is good, many of the people are nice and bright. Having said that, as it CURRENTLY stands, there is no way in hell I would say visiting Iran is a "good idea" as an American. If the situation stabilizes, and politics change I will be there is a heart beat.

Iran is filled with alcohol...the parties are crazy if you know the right people. And the girls dress like sluts underneath their completely covered bodies. It's not as bad as some may make it seem.
Iran is probably one of the most stable countries in the region, it just happens to be stabilized by a regime that has differing interests from our government.
Don't judge an entire country until you taste it's treats.... Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
None of those girls live in Iran. They all migrated to major world cities after the Khomeini fell. Now it's just a place girls go to get nose jobs and chubbies go to make out with rezdog types. The remaining girls aren't hot. It is much better in the countryside and worth visiting, but you could get thrown in jail for 2 years for "espionage". If you want to party in the middle East, go to Beirut.
Persian women are just so fantastically beautiful and exotic. Fundamentalism can kiss my ass covering that beauty up.
I'll never understand how Westerners can actually bring themselves to visit places like the UAE and the KSA, all while completely demonizing a country like Iran, a country that actually has an ancient history and kind people. Westerners genuinely believe that it would be better/safer to vacation in Dubai than in Isfahan. I mean, if you think that the governments of those Gulf Arab countries are actually any better than Iran's... then, well... I guess I can understand, as just by reading people's posts (like Nook's) it's very obvious how perverted (and so, so wrong) people's perceptions of Iran actually are. It has a terrible government with antiquated restrictions for sure, but if you think that the majority of that crap can't be circumvented, or that those restrictions are actually deeply held values of the average Iranian, then you're utterly naive. Ultimately, I think some people's ideas of Iran and Iranian culture/history are based entirely on Western media like "Not Without My Daughter", "Argo", "300", and "the news", which invariably portray Iranians as insensitive barbarians hellbent on killing/torturing/harassing, etc.
I have "tasted the treats", I am married to an Middle Eastern woman, and have always had a soft spot for them.
