we saw the same horrid lateral quickness in preseason, so we already know what he looks like against nba comp this kid is unplayable in today's nba under the vast majority of game situations. and morey could have gotten dillon brooks with the same pick
I disagree . He had great lateral quickness in the first game ... and then he turned his ankle and looked noticeably slower in the second . I think he looked decently quick tonight . I think you have it backwards with how often you need the center to be an ace peremiter defender. If you can back off just a bit and make the guy settle for the shot ... most of the time that will do . I'm not saying he's playable vs GS . But it's also his first ever NBA game
he was about what you'd expect out of a 43rd overall pick. did some good things did a lot of bad things. looked better than zhou qi's first nba minutes. game was probably moving at 200 mph for him. still needs a lot of work tho.
suffice it to say he's a huge project. and as he gets bigger/stronger in order to be effective in the paint, his lateral quickness will get even worse. and again i have to bring morey into this because the only reason we're even playing this kid is the same summer morey also gave a multiyear contract to nene, who's also unplayable for the most part
He was 3/3 in the paint tonight I don't think he needs to get any bigger this year . Nene was given a contract last year right ? He's definitely a project , but he looks like he has pretty good IQ . And while his lateral quickness isn't elite ... I think it will be enough . Not every team can play 48 minutes of small ball .
Sorry, I like him, he wasnt the worst. But hes gonna be targeted for iso and its gonna be bad. I wish this was the type of team that had the time to wait for rookies but we dont.
I think we can play him in the regular season. Two years ago we played Harrell and Dekker rotation minutes and won 55 games . We can give hart 10-15 min a game as backup C and it won't kill us
He got the ball with like 5 second left in the quarter and threw a bad pass right to a member of the other team and they scored .
It was worse than that. He got the ball and instead of holding it or throwing it up the court to a couple of open Rockets, he panicked and threw it back towards the Rockets own goal, for an easy steal and an and-one layup. I’ve seen plenty of bad passes when a ball is loose or a guy is trapped, but that was not the case. He was unguarded at mid court and for some reason threw the ball backwards.
Why was he even on the court at that point of the game? Where’s Capela? (I missed the end of the game, too)
Rookie doing rookie things. That didn’t cost us the game if it happened in the 3rd quarter. I am sure it looked odd but it is just a turn over move on. Side note: I did see the start of the game Harrell looked better than I ever thought he would. He turned into a baby beast. His strength in the paint was impressive.
I liked what I saw. . . .not all of it of course I think he need to bulk up . . he needs some muscle badly He needs to work on his rebounding as well as everyone else on the team He was about the same as Zhou was last year I seen flashes NOW he has to build on it Rocket River
