I didn't even know they were doing that event yesterday. Walking distance from me and I had no idea.

If that is the demographics of the area, then that explains it.

Absolutely - all serious topics that will inevitable end up in the D & D need to start there -- i'm tired of seeing a constant stream of violent topics started in the hangout... the hang out should be light, funny topics -- the serious topic forum [D & D] needs all of these murder, rape, etc. threads.

Haven't been following this story closely but wondering has there been a motive identified yet?

Last I heard: No. Suspect is claiming he's innocent.

But people are speculating it's racially motivated. There's no evidence to think that is the case, but considering what else is going on in the country... that's what people are speculating.

    ::EDIT::

And/or because Goforth was wearing a Sheriff's deputy uniform.

Is the mom really obstructing justice? Have to wait for more to come out, but she'll be charged too it looks like.

How reliable are ballistics tests? I really hope they do their due diligence.

I don't think they are very reliable but they have been used to solve crimes before.

Wasn't there a witness? Was she asked to identify the suspect?

If he was at a store, there would be cameras to verify that alibi.

The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, unless he has his back turned while pumping gas.

Guess we should have cops that guard cops

Surely there were eyewitnesses there who saw what happened. The dude was also on videotape at the store along with his vehicle which was later discovered at his mom's house or wherever. Seems like a pretty tight case if you ask me.

I grew up with the suspect. We weren't super close to hang out after school, but I knew him pretty well. He was your typical guy.. got bullied a bit and gave it out. Little bit of a troublemaker.. but nothing like this. Of course that was when he was a teenager in junior high/high school... just sad.

Friends that knew him better that I've spoke with haven't talked to him in five+ years.. nobody really knows why or how it all came to this.

This would also be valuable if cops are taking a piss, they'd always have one cop having their back in case of a shooting/knife attack.

Outdoors we'd also need one cop for every wind direction, so that none of them can be shot in the back or overwhelmed.

Weren't there a lot of people who saw the shooting? They could probably prove or disprove the issue.
