Cool stat after a loss...that's what I'm here for! :)

He did it in 22 minutes and 30 seconds of playing time, at the 7:22 mark of 3rd Q.

In 2014, Westbrook did it in 21 minutes of playing time, at the 4:55 mark of 3rd Q.

Westbrook's is noted for being the 2nd fastest ever, dating back to 1955...according to Elias Sports Bureau.

    http://www.slamonline.com/media/sla...double-nba-history-video/#XFDC0w5pi9UzyWvj.97

Of course, counting blocks/steals, it surely happened in the 60s....but not necessarily faster. Block/steals were counted started 1974. So, we can say Westbrook's was fastest in 41 years, at least.

Harden's is probably 2nd fastest using the game clock vs playing time, though.

He's the first player since wilt chamberlin in 1968 to have atleast 33/17/14.

James harden is a special offensive players. He played fantastic tonight, we need better big man play. If dwight played tonight I think we win just can't have our bigs missing so many easy lay ins and dunks.

Also Ariza has been bad Corey brewer has actually been outplaying him for a few weeks now but nobody is noticing. He was awful on both sides of the ball and it's killing our team.

This would have been even better if Dwight didn't get hurt and he owned and we crushed them. If both Harden and Howard keep this up we can make progress this season just in time for the guys to me their new coach in the offseason, lol

Clearly a very impressive game, but those "1st ever" stats are so much bull****. How about the first person to get 33/18/13 instead? Or the first person to get 33/17/14 in "x" amount of minutes while playing with "y" amount of fouls?

How is 21 minutes 2nd fastest ever when MJ did it in 20?

James Harden's stats this year remind me of games I played on Madden on easy difficulty where I would win 80-73 by allowing the computer to score TD's on one play each possession by taking my DE and shoving the rest of my defensive line off to the side so their RB could walk it in each time.

The national media might fawn over stats, but what's the point when the most important stat (123-114 L) is not in your favor? This year Harden just seems to be in DGAF mode. He's out to do him, and screw you Houston fans for thinking that team performance matters.

If you are Trevor Ariza and you see this, what is the motivation for busting your ass on defense? It's a total team morale killer.

Gold. You see it but to the average fan youre just a harden hater. And bless those hearts that think Dwight and Harden can coexist.

Harden was hot but he shoved everyone to the side. What happens when hes not Hot and still shoves everyone to the side? He forces us to lose which happens on the daily. Last night we saw that we can win if you move the ball around. I saw that this team doesnt respect him.

The shorter the time is obviously, in itself, impressive. If done quickly, what are the final stats? Maybe a quadruple-double. Maybe something from 1968.

A player scoring 25 in one quarter makes it easier to score 50-60 for the game.

We lost, and a ton of those rebounds were from the hack a strategy.

    Color me jaded.

Overkill, but I've got to call this out

    <iframe src="http://stats.nba.com/playlist/#!/movement?CFID=&CFPARAMS=&PlayerID=201935&TeamID=1610612745&GameID=0021500635&ContextMeasure=DREB&Season=2015-16&SeasonType=Regular Season&RangeType=0&StartPeriod=1&EndPeriod=10&StartRange=0&EndRange=28800" style="border:none;width:100%;height:100%;" allowfullscreen></iframe>

6 of his 15 defensive rebounds were off of missed FTs (as if that diminishes them any)

Dude had a triple double but also easily demonstrated better effort than against the Clippers. Give him some credit

I find comments like these comical simply because you dont get 14 assists by "shoving everyone to the side". 9-22 shooting is NOT "hot".

What Harden has lacked throughout the season is consistency on focusing on defense, and too much ISO, ball stopping, and quite honestly - he's not getting the same kinds of calls he has in years past. You cant say "Harden was hot but he shoved everyone to the side" on a game like this.

I just don't understand the fascination with triple doubles. Why is the number 10 so special? Why 29 13 9 less impressive than 29 12 10?

dont wanna be a debbie downer, and a 3-double is indeed a great feat. but does this really deserve a separate thread instead of the game thread?

so now since we dont have a team win to cheer for, we do individual stats now? if so where is the thread after dwight's 36-26 the other night? imo that was a greater feat.

some of you harden fans... smdh.

right? even Jerry Lin managed this . . . off the bench. So, no big deal at all.

    ;)
