It's legally impossible to get him paid more than Conley.
I wonder if other team will try it more now. Wall for example or even Boogiel

So how much $$ did he cost himself by not waiting?

Fantastic news. It's popular to bag on him lately, but getting his long term commitment is a huge win!

This seems to be a class move by the Rockets..... No way harden shouldn't be the highest paid player on the team....

To say this is mind-blowing is a huge understatement.

Harden must have lost his mind.

nothing. He was already under contract till 2018..this makes him a rocket till 2019, meaning only one extra year of harden for a heftier price tag in which he will likely opt out in 19-20 season

For better or worse, Harden makes huge playoff mistakes. He never got the proper blame for re-assigning Parsons on Lillard and Beverly on the inbounder. Than of the course the 13 turnovers and stink performance to end '15 run. And the team mess that was '16.

Rockets lose cap space over the next two years to lock Harden up for one extra year. The price of sucking.

Great to have Harden, Anderson, and Gordon here for the next four years. Gives them time to build chemistry.

He had 2 years left on his contract. He basically extended his contract by a year giving him 2x salary. 4th year is player option he could take to max out. Smart move

To rot his legacy on this hell hole. Now we can tank and sell tickets at the same time.

In wait and see mode. Not allowing myself to get excited about anything the Rox do until I see them on the court.

Definitely did not see this coming but glad to hear this today. Good news for Houston. Glad to hear Harden likes it here and is committed to staying here.
