Because the poll/question BS. Let me just make it clear, I voted for Harden to stay. I don't know how this is even a question though. C'mon.
The correct answer is Sampson/McHale. If they can't get it to work, try a new coaching team first who can actually get the job done of meshing Harden and Lin. Give someone else a shot instead of Sampson/McHale. If the players have more talent, you side with the players. If the coach has more talent (Phil Jackson), you side with the coach. Sampson/McHale is no Phil Jackson. The coaches' job is to mesh Harden and Lin into a successful backcourt of the future. If they fail at their job, you fire them and bring in a new team that can get the two players to mesh.
Obvious troll thread. But if one had to go, for Lin's sake, I say Lin to a team with a coaching staff that utilized him more effectively.
One of the most confusing polls ever, so the results are meaningless... but to answer your question, obviously you keep Harden. He's the 5th best scorer in the league. Enough said.
If you read carefully, people should know OP was asking who should be traded if the 2 doesn't work together. But still a hell of a confusing poll. My take is Lin has to go since Harden is a way better all round player.
I'm being 100% serious when I say this.... Anybody who voted Lin over Harden should be ashamed of themselves as basketball fans.
