I think the if there's one thing this stat really overstate, it's the "aging curve." Given the advancement in sports medicine, using historical data to help determine age-related regression is not really that useful. At the very least, there needs to be some adjustment for players who are less reliant on athleticism like Dirk whose game clearly ages better than normal. Very interesting he had Drummond's WARP so high last year, given that team stats had the Pistons pretty mediocre on defense even when he played. His counting stats don't seem to scream #1 center either.
