Every year everybody wants to pile the load on Harden (incl Harden and MDA...) and revel in his numbers... Every year Harden puts up ridiculous numbers all season long while the rest of the team lets him do his thing... while facing a different defense every game... Every year the playoffs come around... Harden gets increased defensive attention... Defensive adjustments are made over the course of 5 or 7 game series... Harden gets a little hickup in his giddyup or whatever... and everybody freaks out bc we dont have guys to fill in the need for scoring... You gotta have some balance in the scoring on a nightly basis or it aint gonna be there when you need it... sometimes you gotta do things that are less efficient to find and keep more options available for later... You're really going out on a limb with that one - imagine backing the most effective scorer in the history of the NBA?? Wow! Sadly, Harden needs the others to make their shots so that he can get his. It's a bummer that we've been hugely affected by injuries, and as a consequence lost 9 straight, finishing up with a 'schedule loss' in Denver (3rd game in 4 days after flying 11 hours and 4000 miles in those days...) What? We won the first 8 of those? Oh. C'mon people! We're fine - yes, we still need a 'long wing', but we've won 8 of 9, losing only after a brutal travel schedule. I imagine we'll go back on a win streak after beating the Clippers tomorrow, and everyone will be chippy until we *gasp* lose one in a row again.
