Lin trained with Gary Payton before the draft. That's how much Gary Payton recognized talent in Lin, despite Lin not being drafted. So far, Lin is the ONLY player ever to be invited to Gary Payton's house to work out and be mentored by the Glove. That says a lot.

Howard also had hooked up with Lin and CP in Taiwan. I think the Bromance has grown a new branch.

See: Ming comma Yao and his passel of Point Guards to see evidence thereof.

I am happier reading about Dram/Dwight/Lin than just about anything since a certain date in July.

Nearly the entire roster was turned over last season (except Parsons). The PG position was manned by two guys who were for all intents and purposes NBA rookies. Then a top 3 SG (IMO #1) comes on with ZERO training camp and barely a practice before suiting up. And then in the offseason, the best center in the league joins the team.

So how can you say anything about what's typical for this offense?

Lin likely paid GP and GP likely needed the money.

If that is true then I don't get why Lin would be the only PG to train with him at his house considering that there are a lot of PGs and SGs who at the time were making a lot more money than Lin did.

Sorry, it shows up fine for me. It's a cartoon of Jeremy & Dwight running on a mountain. I don't know how to make it work for others. :(

Looks like the training was before the draft/undrafted. Explained here:
