I recently came into a bit of pairs of these Hakeem Dream shakes and don’t know too much , all I know is they were released in 2013 and he did a couple pop up stores with em. Anybody know any other info they can school me with ? or even a value of what these are worth today ?
The real reason Hakeem was underrated in the NBA. Nike chose not to sign him so he ended up with shoes that were ugly and unbrand-able.
As I recall the big thing with Dream's shoes was that they were priced low so more people could afford them.
Those were the Spalding ones that he released around '96 The one in the OG post, he released them at his own pop up shop and they were like $200+ if i recall
Thanks fella, any estimated Value in Todays market? I'm gonna be looking to get id of a few, I have like 20 pairs
found an article, they retailed at $185 https://www.sneakerfiles.com/hakeems-dr34m-shake-shoe-now-available/ eBay listing showed them going for $125, I don't think any sneaker head would put a premium price on these, if you had them in my size, I'd pay $50 tops honestly just to say I have a pair of Dream's shoes
I think I remember when the Spaldings came out. Weren't they like $19.99 or $29.99 at KMart? I think his most iconic shoes were his early Etonics. Those would be pretty retro slick to wear around Houston.
It was his decision. He didnt want kids to spend $100 for a pair of shoes. Hakeem was a man of ethics and sympathy.
that must suck for an agent (reminds me of starbury's). I wonder how much sponsorship/advertising money hakeem was able to amass over his career tho
Yea , I can do $50 a pair, granted these were all never worn but Do have some yellowing in the sole on some and little things here and there but all have never been worn . message me Send me a message if interested
