    This deserves its own thread
Not as a bump to this thread cause you know thread is confusing the others who weren’t reading the board at the time this was created

    Only Steve Patterson knows

We should remove Les Alexander’s mug and replace it with Steve

Great Dream anecdote I just read:

“That reminds me of Biyombo when he was on the raptors. Apparently one day Masai (the GM) introduced him to Olajuwon and Biyombo got all bright eyed and excited about working out with him. Masai has to break it to him lol.

”He sees Hakeem, and he wants to work out with him,” Ujiri told The Vertical late Saturday night. “So I called him into the room, and said, ‘Biz, with all due respect, I’ve had all kinds of guys go work out with Hakeem. At the end of the day, there’s only one Hakeem in the world and there will never be another one. That guy was a ballerina. I don’t care what you think you’re going to do with that guy but … no, forget it.’

“Go watch Tyson Chandler. Rebound. Block shots. Run. That’s your bread and butter. Listen, Biz, I don’t know if anyone’s throwing you the ball in the post.” [Source]

Is Capella better at 23 than Hakeem was at 23? I don't think so, but that might be open for discussion.

Harden is a better game offensive player than Hakeem (Hakeem was elite though). However, while Harden has been solid defensively this year; Hakeem was the best defensive player I have ever seen.

Honestly it isn’t a fair comparison honestly. Olajuwon is the best defensive player ever and still could carry a team offensively. That combo is just about impossible to match for a perimeter player.

No... no it isn’t open for discussion.

Olajuwon was 24/12/4/2/2 as a 23 year old and leading the Rockets to the Western Conference Finals. Olajuwon was also the best defensive player in the world at 23.

I'm pretty sure the MVP is his this yr.

Should we be so fortunate to have 3 Harden rings, that most certainly will produce 1, maybe 2 Harden Finals MVPs. Factor in the only 60 pt trip dub and well that would be a slam dunk.

Since that is a Dream at this point (see what I did there), Hakeem's rings reign supreme.

I hope we can win a 3rd franchise 'ship this year

Who had more playoff losses as a favorite by age 28 ?

Whose stats regressed in the playoffs (vs reg season) by age 28 ?

Who went farther in the playoffs by age 28 ?

We all like and cheer for Harden, I'm just giving perspective.

lol @ comparing Hakeem vs Capella. There's a reason why Hakeem was drafted #1 overall vs 25th overall.

Tinman is obviously not a Rockets fan. He is a H(Hakeem)OF.

Harden will NEVER reach Hakeem. Hakeem was one of the greatest defenders who ever played the game...Harden ever going to be that?

I wish the media loves harden and the Rockets as much as Tinman loves Hakeem.

All of the above. Combined and stuffed with onion, garlic, and celery, then baked in a rotisserie oven. Smothered in butter and browned to perfection. Mmmmm...

Too bad offense alone does not win any championships.
