Welp. This reeks of "we aren't winning so we'll just try changing something/anything" to me.

He deserves to be fired just like Mchale.

    Imagine Tom tibs with them....

Damnit! Their team is much more suited for Thibs...they are going to steal him away from us this offseason!

I guess I'm the only person who thinks that roster is flawed.

No - their roster is old and creaking - they can't defend the same way they used to and they are/remain shaky on offense.

Seriously, look at how old these guys are:

    1 Marc Gasol 31
    2 Mike Conley 28
    3 Courtney Lee 30
    4 Jeff Green 29
    5 Matt Barnes 35
    6 Zach Randolph 34
    7 Tony Allen 34
    8 JaMychal Green 25
    9 Mario Chalmers 29
    10 Vince Carter 39

They need a total reboot - bringing in Thibodeau to try to wring some more blood out of the defense is a desperate move, IMO, unless they want to stay with the "zig while others zag" thing and remain a team of bangers and plodders. In which case they shoudl draft some younger bangers and plodders.

I'd take him on the Rockets.

Roster is old and outdated. It is what it is and I'm not sure it's the coaches fault.

Agreed, but even when the roster problems aren't the coaches fault, it's can be time to move on.

    Their window is over

They need to trade their best players and vets and rebuild

I tend to agree. I knew they were old, but CHRIST. Older than I thought.

McHale's situation is more like Lionel Hollins'. Looks like firing Hollins was not so smart after all.

Oh, I don't disagree. I think it's a defensible move. If they think their window is closing, makes sense to try to go in a different direction, though I'm not sure they have the personnel to do that.

Maybe a rebuild is in the near future, which makes me curious what Gasol's future is with them since he signed that 5 year deal. Don't see anything drastic happening very soon, though.

Grit and grind...ed to dust? :p

13-12, not good/great by any means but right in the mix of a down Western Conference.

Miles was going to be fired & Richt was fired because they weren't Saban or up to his standards.

Now we're gonna start firing coaches because they aren't Golden State/Kerr or San Antonio/Popovich.

Did Dave Joerger or Kevin McHale forget how to coach overnight?

    ...

Mike Conley, Jeff Green, Courtney Lee, Mario Chalmers & Matt Barnes are set to become free agents.

Remember, Mike Conley will be a UFA at the end of the season. Just because Gasol re-signed, don't assume Conley is a given. Anything can happen in the NBA.

Yeah, that age lineup was kind of shocking. Had no idea Z-Bo was already 34.

Memphis can't win nothing without any real shooters on they team. They still on this play in the post game. Cost them versus Miami.
