Not serious is the news out of the locker room although he turned his ankle pretty bad... First reports... But I was just tweeted back by Jason Friedman 5 minutes ago. He said that the injury is not serious...still waiting to find out if he will miss any games.
Thank you for bringing sanity to the conversation. Loved what i saw from Smith, who didn't belong on an NBA court a year ago, but he's got a long way to go if he wants to learn how to defend the paint. it was very noticeable.
I think he hurt himself on that last dunk off the feed from Lin seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAtd7BkmpAo#t=4m20s Shame, too. You can see him limping afterward but still wanting to play on.
The guy hasn't missed in the last 3 games. 12/12 for the last 3 games. As long as he plays within himself, plays with good basketball sense, brings his energy and throws his big body around, he can actually take the floor with the other 4 starters. The 5 of Lin-Harden-Parsons-Smith-Asik may look offensively challenged but you have 3 (L-H-P)guys who are dangerous at the perimeter and penetrate you have 3 good at the offensive glass (P-S-A) 2 big guys on the pick and roll or the drive and dish that can finish at the rim strong (S-A) 2 big guys patrolling the paint and keeping scorers out and dominating rebounds it could work... for stretches... we have a solid 4 right now and we have many options at the 5th position depending on the matchup.
Isn't it weird? We talked about the plethora of power forwards seemingly for months (OK, weeks, but it actually feels like years), and now we're suddenly "thin?" Too strange.
We have three 1st round picks sitting on the bench all begging for playing time at the power forward position and all better options than Marcus Morris.
