If I were Green, I'd take the fine and enter the arena...I hope he does, though people will support him actually for that. When the Warriors win, this will be all be forgotten and actually help Green with the 'villain' role though he is far from it. He will never be like Rodman, Artest etc. He's a fake tough guy. If he was, he would actually swing when it matters, not do these cheap shots.
Really not all that surprising that Green got suspended since the incident involved LeBron. Both players could have acted differently, but yeah Green needs to start watching his arms and legs. I've said it before and I'll say it again...out of all the things Green has done this postseason (many of which would have warranted a suspension), starting with the Rockets series, this latest incident involving LeBron, which was harmless compared to all the other things he has done, didn't warrant a Flagrant 1. While I don't agree with how GS players are reacting to this, it is somewhat understandable. It is their Championship game and they get away with murder every game. Being punished for something like this must clearly seem unfair to them.
LOL, yeah. Anyway, if the Warriors win convincingly tonight, they will put all the conspiracy theories at least down a notch. They would show that they don't necessarily need Green to win so that the league wouldn't have to "protect" Green.
It's shocking how uninformed people are. The NBA didn't suspend him because he hit Lebron's nuts, they suspended him because he got too many flagrants in the playoffs. That rule applies to every other player - but you don't see other players hitting people in the nuts on the regular. This is all Draymond's fault. If he didn't body slam Beasley at the end of a game they were already going to win, he would still be playing. If he didn't kick Adams in the nuts, he would still be playing. If he didn't take not one but TWO swings at Lebron's nuts, he would still be playing. THe bottom line is Green knew he was on a short leash after the last fragrant - he even said he knew it in an interview after the Adams kick. The fact he let his emotions get the best of him AGAIN is on him and no one else. For all those thinking the league is trying to stretch the series out or even more laughably - that the league is trying to penalize the Warriors - your completely delusional. If anything, the league has been trying to protect Green because he didn't receive a flagrant foul in two of those games and only after constant media coverage that exposed his blatant offenses where they forced to make the obvious call which is if you make a non-basketball move to restrain or hurt a person, then you are going to get assessed a flagrant. Body slamming someone, and kicking/hitting someone in the nuts is WAY outside the "50/50 judgement call" zone.
We all know about Draymond's flagrant points. That's a poor excuse that the NBA is using to hide behind their inconsistent officiating of Draymond. He's earned multiple suspensions this postseason through his barking at the refs, taunting other players, flagrant nut shots, high kicks, and tackles. Draymond received a retroactive flagrant 2 for his nut-kick on Adams, which is typically punished with a suspension but wasn't. He's done much worse than what other players were penalized for less. The coincidence that Draymond's suspension/non-suspension shifts the line for extending the series is enough to raise an eyebrow for the NBA's integrity.

Every game this series goes further = More money for the NBA. That's the only reason Green is suspended for Game 5 Also the same reason the NBA wanted the OKC-GSW series to go to 7 It's all about the money, yo
what people want to believe. and if GS wins tonight. Whats the angle then If GS truly had no chance of winning tonight, everyone that believes Clev is going to win without a doubt should be betting the farm on Cleveland winning then
The NBA's integrity? I admit to being all in on the David Stern era "this game is rigged" mentality, but the facts don't add up in this case. It was Draymond Green who took TWO swipes at Lebron's nuts knowing that he couldn't afford to have another flagrant or risk suspension. The NBA didn't literally force his hand to swing at Lebron - he did. Like I said, there are some things that are judgement calls and by that I agree with you that the NBA has been mostly lenient on how they judged Draymond but Green clearly stepped over the rule line - it wasn't a judgement call, he forced their hand(this time figuratively) to upgrade his non calls into flagrants.
If you can't understand the difference between a player swiping at a ball(a basketball move) and missing and accidentally hitting someone below the belt vs someone going out of their way to make an unnatural movement to hit someone else below the belt, than I feel sorry for you. The Delly move is no different than guys going for a rebound and someone getting poked in the eyes - it happens occasionally and you rarely if ever see a flagrant called provided a legitimate play is being made on the ball. Delly was beat and was trying to strip Iggy from behind and unfortunately that angle meant when he missed, he got him right in the nuts. This is NOTHING like what Draymond has done. ...like I said - it's not like Delly has done that in every series of the playoffs. Draymond has been caught up in everything from body slamming, tripping Kanter, and punching people in the nuts multiple times - and that's just in the 20 or so playoff games. Your an idiot if you think his suspension is unjust by the rules of the NBA. The one valid "pro GS" point I have heard is Steve Kerr's which is - the flagrant foul point limit is too low. It's a valid point and does penalize teams who go deeper in the playoffs - especially ones with players who can't seem to control themselves like Draymond. That being said, if you raise the limit, then you make it useless to enforce legitimate recurring bad behavior by players who will only play in one or two series so I don't know what the answer is here except maybe to keep the rules "as is" and you just have to be smarter as a player if your team has a shot to go deep in the playoffs.
The NBA has let WAY worse stuff go. This is classic example of star player (Lebron James) getting preferable treatment because he's one of the players bringing the NBA revenue. You could tell in the post game interview that was what he was aiming for with his "I'll let the league take a look at this" comment. Steph Curry gets preferable treatment as well. It just depends on who the player is, and who did what to who. Still waiting for the Dellevdova swipe to be a flagarant foul
Wait, are you serious bro???? You are CLEARLY in denial if you can't see the BLATANT swipe of the nuts by Dellavdova. That was SO obvious it's not even debatable. Delly has a HISTORY of being dirty too, so according YOUR standards that should've been ruled a flagarant too. The bottom line is the league basis their rulings on who the perpetrator is, and how it'll affect the series, as opposed to what the rulebook says.
Ha, you can't be serious. Are we watching the same thing? You clearly see Iggy is dribbling, Delly is closing in over Iggy's right shoulder and Delly makes a swipe at where the ball was about to be - only Iggy stopped the ball with his right hand and pulled it back towards his left shoulder in the same split moment that Delly was making his move. The end result is the wrong ball was swiped. At that level, you have to anticipate and swipe at where you think the ball will go - If your waiting until you have a visual on where the ball is, then your never going to get steals and deflections - the game play is just too fast. Add to that the fact that Delly is probably a little too slow for most NBA players. and he's probably going to be a beat behind on most plays. It seems like if Delly were honestly trying to give Iggy a hard foul it would be FAR easier to just push him. If his intent was really to hit Iggy in the groin, that would literally be the most awkward way to intentionally try to hit someone in the groin. It doesn't add up, just stop.
They called a Flagrant foul on Green for nut punching Lebron James. By your logic, they wouldn't call a Flagrant on his plays on certified non-stars like Steven Adams and Michael Beasley....but of course they did. Are you saying Michael Beasley and Steven Adams are also stars or is there some other common thread here?
Denial. Again, we clearly see Delladova swipe and come nowhere the ball and follow thru to Iggy's nutsack. He knew exactly what he was doing. He's a dirty player that actually did injure a guy and take him out the playoffs before. It's just funny how you can applaud something being called a flagrant, and see the EXACT same thing (or possibly worse) happen with a different player, and make excuses for him.
I literally don't know what your talking about here. The rules for the flagrant are here. Note what it says in #2 of the considerations section: http://www.nba.com/2010/news/features/04/18/flagrant.technical/ ...the huge difference between Delly's play and Draymond's is obviously that there is no ball to make a play on in Draymond's case. The ball movement is elsewhere, there is literally no basketball play involved in hitting a person's nuts from behind like that. A swipe at a ball is a basketball play, an attempt at boxing out is a basketball play, flailing to get a rebound is a basketball play. Seeing someone swing and miss on a slow motion video does NOT reflect the reality of the situation when super fast athletes are running and reacting in real time. For a fraction of a second it looked like that ball was going to be right there at groin level and that's what Delly saw and reacted to. Credit Iggy for feeling the swipe coming and pulling the ball out of harms way. Point, counterpoint, and Delly missed because of Iggy's counterpoint. This isn't rocket science for anyone who has played a reasonable amount of basketball. Like I said earlier - when you play ball, things like that happen - not a lot, but they DO happen and nearly everyone who plays a lot of basketball has been poked in the eye, slapped in the face, or yes, hit in the groin when your opponent gets there late to where the ball was about to go. That's just a consequence of some players being faster to respond than others and the NBA rules seem to understand that which is why you hear people talking about whether they were making a "basketball play" or a "basketball move". Swiping at the ball is a basketball play - even if you miss and poke someone in the eye or hit them in the groin. There was no such basketball play for Draymond in any of these situations. You must be the guy from that quote: "Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level then beat you with experience"
