Just for fun, saw it on dreamshake website and was surprised by the results so just want to see what people think is the best one yet. I really hope this will turn into a debate where people try to convince others what the best one was.

So what in your opinion is the greatest trade in Rockets history?

Most people will probably say the Clyde trade was the best but the McGrady trade is up there too. We got much more back than we gave away in both cases. But I give the edge to the McGrady trade. Clyde was 32 and on the downside of his career when he came over. He played 4 seasons for us. McGrady was 25 when he came over, and if you look at his first 4 years here, before he got plagued with injuries, he played better for the Rockets than Clyde did. Rockets fans like to dwell (and sometimes distort history) on the time when Tracy tried to play through his knee injury and couldn't, but he was damned good before that.

not a good grasp on Rockets' trade history.
but I'd think the TMac trade would be at or near the very top.
If TMac stayed healthy, it'd be one of the most lopsided NBA trades of the last decade. And even with injuries, it's still a highway robbery.

Dickerson for Steve Francis. Dickerson got hurt. We basically got Francis for free.

Trading for Otis Thorpe had as much impact as the Clyde Drexler trade. True, it wasn't as sexy, but Thorpe helped the Dream earn two titles to Drexler's one. Without Thorpe in the trade, Portland would not have made the deal for Drexler.

For total value, $50,000 for Vernon Maxwell is tough to beat.

Barkley for Cassell, Horry, Chuck Brown and Mark Bryant.

OK maybe not the best trade but I wouldn't be a fan otherwise.

Sorry meant to say "I hope this will not turn into.." and Poll added. Just to clarify option 9: Vernon Maxwell was acquired for cash mid-season which is in fact a trade, just not for another player since he was not a free agent and playing for the Spurs.

I think the trade for OT was the best one since it brought us a reliable big next to Olajuwon and a foundation upon which the 94 & 95 championship was built. Remember, without OT there's only guessing what other great started we would've needed to trade for Drexler.

Vernon Maxwell for cash is a close second in my book because despite going AWOL, he did amazing things and without him, there's no Clutch Tiy.

The only one that amounted to a championship, Clyde. Without a doubt, the best trade in Rockets history.

well, he did put down VERNON MAXWELL for a cash sum. I don't know if that's considered a trade.
and KENNY SMITH and OTIS THORPE.

    Come on brother!

That's one we all just need to forget, maybe it will appear in the 'Worst trade in Rockets history' thread which in my opinion it was.
